I give the Potbelly Sandwich Shop in downtown Des Plaines 5 stars. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I appreciate that I was able to get a hot warm sandwich to go, in a short amount of time. I ordered the “Wreck” which certainly is just like it says on the menu, a meat lover’s Paradise. I appreciate they have lots and lots of crunchy chips to choose from including the Zapp’s New Orleans style kettle potato chips. There is plenty of parking around this Potbelly’s, and it is easy to get in and out of the shop.

Ordered a Turkey sandwich. Got a ham sandwich then I went back and told them they got it wrong. Guy that was at the first part was laughing and acting clueless. Then I got my sandwich with pieces of chicken and beef. Staff was not friendly at all. If you are going to work at a food restaurant, friendly manners and accurate orders are super important. 0/10 experience I would never recommend this location to anyone.

Not sure what happened to this spot but it’s going downhill. I ordered two soups and was the only one in line and neither were ready by the time I checked out. They also didn’t have a tray for me and the soup just wasn’t good. What has happened to this location. Very Disappointing because Potbelly’s is great but this location needs help or a new manager. The broccoli soup wasn’t good. Cold and bad. You can do better people. I’ll go to the one down the street next time.

I had ordered through a delivery service. The sandwich was bland. Very little meat. Which made it mostly bread. I had thought the order was incorrect. Not to mention due to delivery I paid over 20.00 stupid for one friggin sandwich. That’s how bad I wanted this sandwich . I had been thinking of it all week. So I finally ordered it. Only to have all this happen. Back to the issues, I called and the attitude of the employee was horrible. Rude and offered no assistance. I have loved Potbelly for years. My family I go there because it was my favorite sandwich shop. None of us will NEVER eat there or support them again.

Awful service. They got our online order wrong and we had to wait fifteen minutes to get it replaced. Also look at this blta. It’s the most sad sandwich ever. One tomato, two slimey floppy pieces of bacon and one tiny thin sliced of avocado. It’s almost false advertising with how little of each ingredient there is. Awful experience.

It’s unfortunate the food is good but the service is extremely lacking! The staff is very lazy & act like making a sandwich is an intrusion on their time. I’ve tried on numerous occasions to call in an order (during business hours) & they don’t answer. I felt like ordering for pick up would diminish my negative interaction with them. Furthermore, they point out their request for a tip when you check out, however, nothing they do is tip worthy!!!! Smh
