The Prairie House Cafe is the place to take your family and friends for a delicious home cooked dinner. The food is delicious and the portions are often more than you can eat, but not a problem, to go boxes are always available. The desserts that Connie makes from scratch are to die for. Geri, Linda, and the rest of the wait staff are very friendly and make you feel like one of the family. If you haven’t been here yet, you are missing the best meal in Butler County.

12 oz ribeye was delicious, well seasoned and cooked perfectly, baked potato and salad nice and fresh. Fried shrimp dinner delicious. Open face roast beef and catfish dinner, ok. hush puppies were really good. Generous portions, and prices are extremely reasonable. Very nice people and atmosphere very home town feeling.

Stopped in for dinner on a road trip. The home style food was delicious, and service was friendly and quick. The chicken fried chicken, fried okra, bacon wrapped hamburger steak and sweet potato fries with brown sugar sauce were all delicious. There is shuffleboard in the waiting area, as well as a small gift shop.

Another hidden gem of a restaurant in Kansas. We had breakfast and everything was fresh prepared and to perfection. We had to try a piece of pie also, amazing flavor. Again, made right there. We will go again in the evening sometime and try their steaks, menu looked like it would take care of all sorts of cravings.

Real good home cooking the pie and especially the cheesecake is really good. The only issue is you never know when they are open or closed they close the doors because of staff issues several times lately so I have stopped going and just head over to Augusta or el dorado

It’s another one of those gems that we love to find! Great food, great service, nice and clean. All the other restaurants in the area didn’t open until 8 and 11, so we checked out The Prairie House Cafe. Thank God we did! Can’t wait to return and would recommend to anyone that wants to enjoy a great breakfast at an unbelievable price!

I and 7 friends were there on a Friday for lunch. They were very busy. We had quite a long wait for food which is the reason for only 4 stars on service. We had the Bluestem Hamburger/cheeseburger baskets, and chicken bits basket. Food was cooked well, hot, and very good!
