Absolutely amazing prime rib on Saturday night for the special. I was headed to DM from rathbun and found this place Wow, I just wanted a burger, but the menu sounded so good, I had a double order of prime rib with mashed potatoes, they were smokey and delicious, the prime rib was perfectly medium rare and a great cut too. I will definitely make this the dinner stop for the family, they had a bar but but it was a nice family restaurant atmosphere.

It’s a very interesting place! It’s a little pub style restaurant in the middle of a little town that’s just kind of in the middle of nowhere. They have a small menu but it’s packed with some incredible dishes. The Boarsin Chicken over a rice pilaf was really good, my wife liked her chicken & biscuits over mashed potatoes & gravy, & my daughter really liked her Uptown Mac & Cheese. This is definitely a place I’d recommend checking out if you’re down in the area.

Possibly the best place in SE Iowa to dine. I don’t know that I have every left a review before but felt this place was deserving. Super clean. Great atmosphere. Awesome service. And the food…..you won’t find better.

Great place to eat. Had the zucchini fritters. So good. Remoulade sauce had just the right amount of kick. Had the Cobb salad, and is was so nice and fresh, and big. One of our group had the French dip, one had the pulled pork sandwich, the other had nachos. Good all the way around. This is a hidden gem in a very small community. Highly recommend.

It was a great experience. Super friendly environment. Brought our 2 kids and the staff was amazing to them as well. Food was awesome and at a reasonable price. Definitely recommend people to try it out.

BBQ ribs with house sauce are great. Homemade cole slaw and baked beans excellent. My daughter said it’s the best cole slaw she’s ever had. Chicken and biscuits great flavor, veggies needed cooked just another minute. All of these homemade recipes are such a blessing for small town restaurants! Been there twice and can’t wait to go back. Update: 2 more visits with excellent service and great prime rib sandwiches. The potato skins are my new favorite!
