Delicious. Came today for my daughter’s graduation lunch. We had a party of 9. Everyone enjoyed the all you can eat snow crabs and lobsters. Great food, fun waiters and watresses and a pleasant atmosphere

I’m a Matawan local and decided to try out the new spot that took over Pete’s fishery. I must say the food was really good. My husband and I had the Asian inspired shrimp appetizer- it was so good! I wish I could’ve had bread to eat the leftover sauce! For entrees my husband had the fried combo platter and I had the crab cake entree. Both entrees were fresh and had great portion sizes. The fish on the fried combo platter lacked a little seasoning but everything else was great. The service was great and super friendly. The only reason I didn’t give the full 5 stars was due to the fact that they didn’t have a few things we had asked for (New England clam chowder, creamed spinach, mashed potatoes). I understand that it’s a new place and they want to serve fresh things- I was just super disappointed that they didn’t have the clam chowder I was looking forward to having. I also would suggest sprucing the place up a bit, they had a salt shaker as the table centerpiece. I wish the owner well and hope they keep up the good work!

After reading the reviews, my husband and I were excited to try it. The seafood itself is very fresh and good. The place has potential for sure. The service was adequate, the menu was pretty limited, and no ambience. The prices were more fit for a four-star restaurant rather than casual dining.

I ate here tonight with my wife and a friend of ours. The food was absolutely awful. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone. I was actually embarrassed. The seafood was frozen and had no taste. The clams were chewy and the mussels were sandy. The people at the table next to us were complaining as well. The owner claims the chef is on vacation. I never heard of such ridiculousness..The price for the 3 of us was definitely not worth it!And to top it off, we get there and there is a hand written sign hanging on the entrance door that says CASH ONLY

First, they give you a place mat paper menu to read off of and then they collect it back. The server was very friendly and efficient. However, the food was terrible. The steak was cold and the lobster tail was over cooked. A 60.00 meal tasted as if it were microwaved. The shrimps were actually decent but took so long to come out. The lemon chicken and pasta was horrid. Smothered in onions and drizzled in sour lemon sauce, it was barely edible. One of the orders had to be returned because it had tomatoes and all they did was scrape it off. None of the deserts are made in house, so that was a good thing. Do not go here, the positive reviews must be from friends of the restaraunt because I cannot imagine giving this fishery more than one star.

The intent was good but they need to re-shut the doors and train their staff! All very young, bumping into each other, our waitress was ever so sweet and did not have a clue to what she was doing. Food tasted ok but I had to clean the poop off of every piece of shrimp. Very very expensive as well. Hoping they will improve! As of now, I will never go back.

Cant beat Pride of the Sea’s Freshness and quality. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and plan to return many times. Crab Cakes all lump crab meat and fresh fluke is incredibly difficult to find anywhere and they both were delicious. Staff is young but friendly and energetic. Highly reccomend

SUPERB!! Easily one of the top seafood restaurants I’ve ever dined at. The food is 5 star; fresh, tasty and well prepared. Large portions, good service & moderate pricing make “Pride Of The Sea” a great dining experience any day of the week. The Mango Coconut Shrimp, Lobster Mac & Cheese, and Signature Seafood over Pasta are amazing. The Key Lime Cheesecake is to die for!!!

I just tried the shrimp po boy and it is really good. Best fried shrimp I’ve ever had on a great roll with the perfect amount of slaw and served with steak fries. So freaking good. I can’t wait to try other things here. The fresh fish case looked really great as well. I’ll definitely go here and try some of the fresh fish to go as well.
