We stopped in after a Campus tour and they accommodated us without a reservation. They were so nice. We all had beverages while we waited for a table. They had a great selection of Alcohol Free drinks to enjoy. A wine list too. The food was amazing. Fried green tomatoes with peach sage drizzle, potato cakes with pimento cheese-Fabulous. We will be back next time we are in town.

A great spin on southern comfort food. The portion sizes are perfect…not too big to finish at the restaurant but you definitely won’t leave hungry. The hot-dipped chicken has great flavor and isn’t over-powering, but it can be complimented with a homemade ranch to tame the spice for those who are sensitive to spicy foods. The sides are excellent too; I’d recommend the green beans with potatoes. The closed-in front porch provides a nice ambiance and the place offers nice craft beers and a better-than-most wine selection by the glass.

We sat in the first dining room, so it was a little cold. The food was amazing. It tasted like food style cooking and was very filling. I love their desserts as well

l am not the person to leave a review but I have been trying to order food from this restaurant for the past month, but they keep rejecting my to go order. I’m very disappointed, I have worked in multiple small restaurants in the area that get very busy and we have always found a way to be able to serve both guests that chose to dine in and out of the restaurant. This is lazy management, I am okay with a longer ticket time.

We went there today around 6pm. Not proper at all. Me and my family went there and we saw several open tables including a few outside tables. The hostess asked us how many we have and had the menus in her hand ready to seat us. There was only three people in our party. We told her we have a service animal and suddenly she told us they were booked for the night and walked away quickly and acted rude about it as if she was annoyed. I have a hearing impairment and legitimately have a service dog who is a small toy dog. She went from being ready to seat us to telling us they are booked for the night. This is against the law and discrimination to pretend you are booked for the night when you find out someone has a disability. We walked by the restaurant 45 minutes later and they had seated other people after us and was seating customers who were walk ins…so it was obvious they weren’t booked. People with service dogs aren’t supposed to be treated that way and the restaurant we went to one block over didn’t act like that so I recommend you don’t eat here.

Excellent Southern food and hospitality! The collard greens (vegetarian, with curried tomatoes) were the best I’ve ever had. Might go back for just an entire plate of those! Great spot!!

Everything about the Proper I love, local, fresh food and great service. It’s one of those small quant places that fill up fast, so you might want to make a reservation. The food is amazing. It’s a must please while you’re in Boone
