This is a good spot for typical Mexican food with an American flair. These types of restaurants are all very similar in my opinion. I ordered a combination plate that included an enchilada, burrito, and chili relleno. My wife ordered the steak fajitas. Both of our meals were good. The meals were nothing out of the ordinary and what you would expect. Service was decent for the amount of customers they had. They also supply each table with complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa was good.

Out if towners with business in IF. Puerto Escondido was near one of our stops so we ordered take out not knowing they had some outside seating. Chile Verde was so full of flavor instead of buried in heat. We will now go out of our way when traveling through IF to stop for a bite. Thank you for treating us so well.

Delicious food. I got the macho burrito and my husband got the shrimp burrito. Only complaints are it was freezing cold in that restaurant and the water is awful! It tasted like pool water. If you go in a winter coat and drink soda (or anything but water) it’s a 5 star restaurant ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I was seated and waited about 20 minutes to be asked what I wanted to drink. The waitress made eye contact several times before that and almost walked up to ask for our drinks but left. 20 minutes in we were finally served chips that were burnt. Waited awhile before a different waitress came to take our order. Another 20 minutes before we’re served. The worst part was how badly the fajita burrito and fajita plate tasted. They put sauce over their fajitas? Never in all my years. Left with a partially eaten plate, feeling sick. It was pretty full in the building when we arrived, but when leaving at least 3 tables had left with barely touched food. Had to pay full price for the food which was outrageous, and I feel sick. Never going back. Really disappointed. But their horchata was delicious. Keeping it real.

We have finally found our restaurant in Idaho Falls. The food is absolutely delicious!! They catered to my gluten free needs and the staff is very friendly. The chef even came out to address specific questions. Many thanks to Puerto Escondido Mexican Restaurant!!
