What a stellar addition to the GR Mexican food scene! Pure Mex is a family owned place that is in the Jalisco and Guadalajara tradition of Mexican food. It’s more modern than other Mexican joints in town and leans into the more bright colors and Frida Kahlo and dios de los muertos than the traditional Adobe style.

First time visiting. We had a great experience. The food was on point for sure! Not what I would call authentic, but close. They don’t have their liquor license yet, but to do have Mexican Coke. Definitely worth a visit!

Nice hostess and good server. Cudos to the bar for a solid Paloma. The entree sides were barely room temperature while the chimi itself was very hot… evidence that the plate sat waiting for the entree too long. The entree itself was tasty and well-made, though the use of imitation crab should be indicated somehow on the menu… “crab”, krab, seasoned pollock?

Google said I could walk but there from the nearby hotel are no sidewalks once you get to the mini mall parking lot. Very popular. There was a wait for a party of one but the bar had a few seats open on a first come, first served basis. Tacos were good. Typical elevated taco not the taco truck/street taco variety. Bartender was attentive and provided plenty of guidance. Seems to be a group of regulars at the bar.

Stopped in here to check out their steak tacos food was good, it was a Wednesday at about 2:30 in the afternoon there was three tables occupied and yet I waited about 7 minutes for someone to greet me at the front entrance to be seated and could not serve beer because they have not acquired their liquor license as of 5/10/23.
