What!!! So much good food! Let’s start with the thick cut bacon – there should be another word for this thickness. It was substantial and on point. Now the eggs – so many folks don’t know how to cook over medium, not here! Again, on point. And then thick and fluffy pancakes with that perfect center bite. Throw in friendly staff and you’ve now got breakfast perfection.

I visit the area frequently and was in the mood for some simple, straightforward, scrambled eggs. Believe it or not, that is hard to find these days! I came upon the Quality Shoppe and thought I’d give them a try. The home fries were suggested and I am so glad I got them. Not only was the English muffin fluffy and scrambled eggs done perfectly, but those potatoes! Oh my goodness! It was so pleasurable to actually taste the potato instead of the grease that they are cooked in (which I often find at other diners), The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. Sitting at the diner bar was perfect for those just stopping in for a quick bite. I will return!

The food was pretty amazing. The side salads are quite large, and the corned beef reuben was divine. The Belgian waffle was very obviously topped with canned peaches, but I understand that it’s hard to keep fresh peaches from rotting, so I’m not holding it against the place in the least, especially since the waffle itself was really good. The servers were very kind and helpful (I’ve been about 3 or 4 times up to this point, but i only had the chance to really relax and not rush during my last visit due to my schedule). If I don’t have time to make myself breakfast, the breakfast muffins are very affordable and I can just pick one up on the way to work. In fact, a 2-person brunch came out to a little under $20 during my most recent visit. The decor is more nostalgic and inviting than fancy or themed, but it made me feel more at home if anything. All in all, I’d highly recommend you stop by if you have the chance.

I’ve order take out today and the food here is spectacular. It officially made my morning and was ready to attack my day with a full belly at a fair price. Highly recommend!

Great little diner in an unlikely location. Being in the end of a strip mall in a small college town doesn’t do the Quality Shoppe justice. The food is good and provided at a good price. Never had a bad meal, and my hot breakfast is served faster than I can make it myself at home.
