We had a carrier inspection for a storm loss out in Coconut Creek so on the way back we stopped to enjoy so e Cinco De Mayo good cheer & great food. The kids in the dance troupe were so joyous and colorful. We had Ropa Vieja, and 3 Tacos Fish, Shrimp & Chicken along with a basket of really fresh warm pleasantly perfectly salty tortilla chips and salsa. All excellent.

Surprisingly good Mexican food. I had some Ropa Vieja and a fish taco and my hubby had steak quesadilla. The beef was a little on the salty side for my taste but overall good. My hubby said that the quesedillas were great! Will come back to this place when we need some variety to eat.

I was in the area and decided to stop in. What a great surprise that the food was SO GOOD! Better than most Mexican places I’ve ever eaten. I had the Flautas with ground beef and brown sauce. So tastey! Flauta shells were perfectly cooked, not too soft and not too crunchy, they had a crisp bite that quickly gave way to their delicious filling. The filling was perfectly seasoned ground beef. I thought I tasted a hint of cumin with the pepper, salt, cilantro, and other seasonings. I was told they start making everything the night before to let the flavors meld. I would definitely recommend this place if you are in the area.

Fantastic dinner at Quates Mexican Restaurant to kick off the weekend ! The Manager, Pablo, gave us the best sellers and it was tough to decide as their prices are low. The chips and two types of salsa were a wonderful start. I ordered the steak fajita bowl and it was delicious. The steak portion was generous and the flavors were fabulous. My friend had the Taco Supreme and she loved it. It was enough for two people so I ate her other half! Plenty of cheese, ground been, guacamole and refried beans. We sat outside as the temperature was cool, but they had plenty of indoor seating with very cool art work. Highly recommend !

10s, 10s, 10s the fullest! Just finished my dinner from here, the fish taco dinner, accompanied by seasoned rice, refried beans, and front of the house service like no other! The woman who took my order even explained to me what “Quates” means— friends! And boy, was I welcomed like a friend there… and a location in Pompano Beach? Will be back when I’m in the area! Love this place!

I stopped her because I was in the area and in the mood for tacos. Then plus side of this spot is that they are heavy handed on the margaritas. I highly recommend the margarita. I wasn’t impressed by the steak taco at all. Could’ve been seasoned better. The chicken tacos were really good and full of flavor. I like that they ask your preference when ordering the tacos so it would be wise to know the difference. The Chicken Nachos were $8 alone and it was very filling but I wish they would have given more. They literally give you 8 nacho chips topped with the ingredients. I would also recommend the Horchata, it’s very good. All in all, it’s a pretty decent taco spot that serves decent beverages.
