I hate leaving negative reviews for local places, but today’s experience was terrible. The food here is always good, but the place obviously needs more and better trained staff. We waited 45+ minutes to get our food and then both of our orders were wrong. Customers who ordered well after us got their food before we ever saw ours. I really do like the food here, but I may not be back for a long time. It has gotten ridiculous.

Loved the vibe. We ordered online. When we got there it wasn’t ready but that was okay. I had the pimento cheese panini with bacon and tomato. I was expecting more pimento cheese, but the flavor was spot on. Next time I will ask for more pimento cheese.

We decided to Visit the Queen street deli and bakery for lunch. I heard that it was on by the famous Vivian Howard’s sister here in Kinston. The panini’s are great and the soups are fantastic.

Traveling through and looking for a quick bite. The deli was fairly busy at 12:15. Seemed to have a lot of locals. Good sign. The food is very good. The coffee was great. The restaurant lacks management. We stood at the counter for 6 or 7 minutes before someone actually said I will be with you in a minute. After we got our sandwiches, a club and Cuban panini, both very good, I decided to order a pound of chicken salad to go. 25 minutes later I canceled the order as they still had not found time to put it in a container. The staff was not smiling and seemed to be in pain while working. Obviously short staffed and overwhelmed but a good manager should have been there to welcome the customers and fill in where needed to keep the atmosphere and employees a little more upbeat and inviting.

We stopped in for a cup of coffee and pastry. I had a salted caramel pecan blonde brownie and my husband had a piece of chocolate cake. Both were scrumptious! The owner, Lorraine, is Vivian’s (Chef and Farmer fame) sister.

Ate here for the first time the other day and was so so pleased with my order. I was late picking up (that was on me) and even cold my sandwhich was great!

We had our Christmas Party last night at Massey Toyota. We had the Deli cater our annual party. Loraine, the owner hosted the event for us. The food was great, from the prepared meats to the veggies! Then, finally the deserts were too good!! So great service and food….we all thoroughly enjoyed it and I would highly recommend the Deli for your event.
