This was My Husband and I’s first time eating here. I really like the food and the atmosphere. Their prices are fair for the quality of food that you get service was great all the servers were personable and polite. I will definitely be coming back here especially since they will be doing Sunday brunch after Labor Day. We are locals and we’re tired of going places. Being disappointed. We were definitely sleeping on this place so glad we came and we will definitely be returning.

Exhausted Trying
A party of four ordered: black bean burger with okra, a chicken club and a Po-Boy both with fried, and the 4th ordered nachos + shredded chicken as their main. Our waitress, Tabitha, was super – sweet and attentive. When the nacho’s arrived with both chicken and shrimp, that member of our party didn’t complain. While he thought it was an odd combo, to send it back would result in his eating well after we were finished. Plus, he commented that it was such a small amount of shrimp, felt some of the Po-Boy may have ended up on his nachos. However, when the bill came, his $12 nachos were now $22 as a $10 charge was added for both chicken and shrimp. Given the nachos didn’t have real cheese (liquid cheese from a can or powder mix), $12 was an acceptable charge. But when you don’t order shrimp, you should be able to have that charge lifted. It was a mistake not to complain immediately, but his reasoning was logical. Tabitha took his complaint to management, who personally addressed the issue at our table with the argument that “since you ate it, my hands are tied”.

Currently writing this review while sitting in the restaurant. This place has horribly slow service. After waiting over an hour for our food our server finally came to say something and could probably tell I was irritated. More than half the restaurant is empty and we are still waiting. Even my 4 yr old is asking our server what was taking so long. She said she didn’t know. After another 10 or so minutes we can see our server fussing at the kitchen staff (who most were just standing around, we have a pretty good view of the kitchen from where we are sitting). I watched as our food was placed on a tray and sat on the counter. When food finally showed up my food was barely even warm and they hadn’t even brought all the food we ordered. My child’s food still wasn’t ready. Absolutely disappointed in the service and even the food. My husband’s steak wasn’t cooked right and he stated he could’ve cooked a better one at home. We are taking our food to go at this point it’s been 2 hours since we’ve been here. Still waiting to get boxes and our check. This is our first and last time we will be here. We had really high hopes for this place. We won’t be back.

10 out of 10 I would recommend again. My husband and I were in town visiting our daughter for parents weekend at her college. She brought into the cutest little downtown. We took a walk around before heading over the the John Blue festival but we made a decision that we were coming back to try Railroad bar and grill for supper and boy were we satisfied. The wait staff is fantastic. They were all on top of there game. The hostess was so friendly she makes you feel like she invited you and sat you at her bath own dinner table. Are drinks never went dry. My daughter and I are ice water and our waitress noticed and brought us each a cup of just ice the good kinds. The place was very busy the down stairs was packed with in 15 minutes of opening. However we waited maybe 20 minutes for our food. I had the chicken club with fries. My husbabd had the burger with fries and my daughter had the shrimp po boy with fries. So the fries Omg are they amazing. Seriously if you in the area stop in it’s a great place to eat. I will be back I know that.

Tried Railroad Bar & Grill for the first time last night for dinner and had the brunch today. The food, service, and atmosphere was fantastic. I tried the Salmon BLT, Collard Green Eggrolls, and Lemon Pepper Wings last night for dinner (dishes tried by others with my party were the Railroad Burger and Blackened Salmon all of which were great). I tried the Railroad Breakfast Platter today for brunch (chose buttermilk waffle, sausage, and cheesy potato casserole) and it was delicious (one other in our party tried the same with French toast which was excellent). I highly recommend you try this great new establishment.

The waitress was attentive and sweet, but my husband’s meal was disappointing from the beginning to the end when he got an extra charge of $10.00 for something he did not order as a topping on the nacho platter. Management was of no help. Customer service was very disappointing!

The food is poor to mediocre . Its all frozen food overly priced. Wings salty. Fried okra are frozen. Captain Ds better crispy okra. Mac and cheese horrible. Hamburger isnt hand made, its frozen. They were out of collard eggroll and philly. The southwest egg roll are frozen. Im so disappointed i wanted to support my home town, but its not right to charge those prices and not deliver. I would pay 20$ more for Ruth Chris. And I’d advise local residents to patronize bar only until they can get the food quality under control. The waitress Chloé was very attentive.
