I don’t usually eat a lot of BBQ, but this place is amazing. Great meats and dessert. The menu is well balanced and the portions are just right. I had the brisket with rice. My wife had the potato wedges with brisket. Excellent food all around. This is a winner. Definitely recommend.

1st time ordering/ going/ eating from this establishment. Called ahead to place orders, the pick up time was exceptional. The service over the phone and in-person was nice and pleasant. The place looks clean and inviting. I would go back to dine-in. The food looks good but the desserts looks delicious can’t wait to taste and the price for the desserts are really good for the amount you receive.

Only if I could give more stars. It should be a crime to sell BBQ this good! I am definitely coming back. Finger licking GOOD! Also, Wayne was such a good help with explaining everything with it being my first time here.

Food was all great and perfectly priced. Best sweet tea I’ve had in a long time. Everyone working here was super friendly and you could tell they enjoyed what they did. Food was great and the vinegar sauce was the bomb.

The BEST bbq in SC. I think I’ve said this before about other places but this one, hands down. Great smoky flavor on the meat and delicious homemade sauce. The atmosphere in the restaurant is super cool too.

Amazing!! It’s a small building but it’s been well loved. The inside is a testament to Columbia and African American history. On the wall art work, family pictures and memorabilia make it a great Local or Student hangout. Customer service was amazing, every single person there made sure we had a good experience. For a party of two we ordered the sample; The Tubman with four meats. For sides we had the Collards and Kale, Potato salad and Baked beans With cornbread and Texas toast. Total 57$. These folks even have seltzer water and desert! Absolutely wonderful 10/10.

The atmosphere in the restaurant was very welcoming and warm. Lots of photos lined the walls with historical memorabilia.

I ordered the R McQueen and it was ok. Let me break it down. The brisket sandwich was maybe a 1/4 pound at the most and in my opinion, it was small for the price (14.99) with a basic side. Most places I’ve been to serve at least a 1/2 pound brisket sandwich. As one can see in the photo the brisket was a bit dry and it didn’t have much of a smoked flavor. However, it wasn’t bad and I definitely had better. The mac and cheese wasn’t bad either and I had better. The food I’ll rate a 6.9 out of 10, being a pitmaster myself it could’ve just been a bad day. As far as the atmosphere there not many other bbq spot that can rival this place. Definitely in my top 5. I love the old photos/history of South Carolina black athletes, memorabilia etc. and the whole railroad theme. Also, the service was immaculate and they were very attentive. I’m going to try them again and i recommend this place.
