The food was not good at all. It taste like the grill wasn’t properly cleaned, and our tiramisu dessert had mold in it.

Rain Modern Chinese Cuisine has been on my list for a while now and I finally made it there yesterday: a GORGEOUS, warm, sunny September day. Rain is right in the middle of the Lark Street neighborhood, which is really a fabulous area of Albany. Great neighborhood. Great vibes. So many places to eat/shop/etc.

Rain is upscale culinary experience in Chinese cuisine, we eat here at least 3x month, staff is extremely professional and aim to please your palette. Ingredient’s are fresh, if you want lobster or fish you can pre-order with Simon or Vinny or Paul, give them 2 days. Short ribs with broccoli, onions, beef ,delicious, chow fun beef noodle hits the senses and satisfy any craving you have for noodles, some dim sum dishes available, how gow ,shrimp in cloud of bell pepper, shrimp nestled in egg plant simply delicious, you won’t be disappointed, bring your appetite and sit back and enjoy.$$$

Every time we pass through Albany we stop for lunch here. It has always been a great meal. We love the awesome dipping sauce served with the scallion pancakes. Soups are all wonderful and so are the dumplings. This was my fist time having the Beef Chow Fun with gravy and it was fantastic!

We paid 160$ for just 4 dishes, as we realized later that the restaurant double charged us the tip. This is not honest, so I don’t recommend this place. Food was good though.

I used to love their food. But we ordered 4 dishes yesterday, 3 out 4 were incredible salty that we had to try to eat them because we were starving at that time. We eventually could not finish them all and drank so much water between our meal. Probably my worst experience ever. Will try to avoid this place in the future.

First of all, soup was cold with no taste. Had to ask server to warm it up. Calamari had a weird smell. Black pepper beef was the only dish was okay (not like before). Custom service is below average. They did not serve water either. I would not recommend this place at all based on how low the quality of foods has become over the years.

A great find! A friend, my husband and I were in the area and glad to find this nice Chinese restaurant. The food was really delicious and service was good! We had steamed flounder, squid with sour cabbage (in the picture), a soup, popcorn chicken and string beans. The flounder was very fresh and tasty and the squid dish was beyond our expectations. We had a great experience. Highly recommend! Will definitely come back if we are in the area again!

Went for a Christmas dinner and Everything was fantastic! Got soup dumplings and boneless ribs to start and they were delicious! The Peking duck was perfect! Crispy and juicy the buns were well steamed and the cocktails were yummy. For a day when it was super busy I feel like I was still given great attention by our waitress. I definitely will be returning.
