We saw all the great reviews and had to try it. My wife enjoyed the Aristo’s plate, beef skirt steak, grilled chicken, shrimp and guacamole. She had a choice between rice and beans or grilled vegetables, she picked the veggies and they were as good as the entree, the skirt was a little chewy for her so I non-reluctantly ate it….very tasty. I went with carne guisada with rice and beans, super tender and full of flavor and more than I could eat. We both did flour instead of corn tortillas. They carry and serve Katz coffee, they even have their own blend of beans, from Indonesia and South America, tried a cup and had to bring home a bag of whole beans. They have two thermos’s of coffee, one flavored…today’s was Tx Hill Country Pecan, the nonflavored was their own Raizes House Blend. We loved a couple small salads with cilantro dressing. The young man/owner brought us three different salsas, the clear plastic squeese bottle had a green mild sauce, the red was the medium heat and the yellow was very hot and tasty, try a drop and enjoy carefully….they brought us a small plate with lime wedges and I completely forgot about them. We’ll be back. They do breakfast, lunch and dinner except for Sunday and Monday…they close at 3 pm those days and open every day at 7 am.

Office lunch out to celebrate my birthday and was able to share this gem with the team. The food was fantastic! As always. It was a bit warm inside today and they seemed short handed but all in all a great time and we will return.

We came here for a lunch and this is definitely going to be a regular for us. The food was great, the staff was great, it definitely seems like a hidden treasure in Stafford. We’ve been eating around here for years and never stopped but came on a recommendation of a friend and are so happy we did. The soup they bring you with the tortillas strips is soo good, never thought I would like zucchini soup but it was oh so good. The Carne Guida definitely hit the spot and is very filling. The mole enchiladas was delicious as well. We can’t wait to come back and try the breakfast and coffee.

Raizes has served excellent breakfast and lunch for many years! Exceptional food, service, and pricing! I’ve ordered the enchiladas suizas and carne guisada in the past and they were both delicious! I very recently ate lunch here with a friend and our order took a bit longer than expected. We never commented on it as it was a full house, but the waitress gave us a sampler platter of dessert on the house for our patience! The desserts included tres leches, arroz con leche, and flan. As you might have guessed, these desserts were also very well made!

SA08072023. . Food is OK. Enchiladas de Mole are tasty. Staff very kind and attentive. Asking for what I would need. For both, English and Spanish speakers. It needs some music probably.

Where to start…I’ve been looking for good places to eat while in Stafford, TX and this place kept popping up as best places to eat. There was a reason for that. Ordered through Uber and had my food in 30 minutes. Everything was hot and looked great. I asked for their hottest salsa and they hooked me up. Carne Guisada Taco was my first and hopefully not my last. The Pastor Taco was excellent and not dry like a lot of places serve it. I also ordered Alambres which was awesome and served with rice and beans. I’m not a big rice fan but the beans were amazing. I only wish they had three flour tortillas, not two. In conclusion I’d say if you are wanting Mexican food this should be your first choice. If you’re not wanting Mexican food you should reconsider.

Chilaquiles with Egg and Beef was absolutely amazing this morning. Arrived in town from Ohio on business and hadn’t eaten yet. Was looking forward to finding a local restaurant for brunch, and boy, was this a great find! Very authentic, quaint, clean cafe with a super friendly staff. If ever in this area again, I will certainly return.
