Spending over six years dedicated to learning the basics of cooking, Watanabe quickly established himself as a devoted student in the culinary arts. He flew back to Japan and spent several months shadowing three of Japan’s most notable ramen chefs, learning about the importance of fresh ingredients and how to fuse them together to make a distinct bowl of ramen. Since then, Watanabe has added his own signature touch to original ramen recipes along with other Japanese style foods such as curry and tsukemen. After years of apprenticeship, Watanabe brought his vision into fruition as Rakiraki Ramen & Tsukemen opened in October 2012.

Not quite like they make it in Japan, but not bad! It’s definitely over priced, but most things are these days. The noodles were a good size & texture and the right portion for me, but some ramen lovers might be left wanting more noods. The spicy miso broth was good and not too greasy and the meat had a delicious charred taste. The soft boiled marinated eggs were also surprisingly good. We also got the garlic edamame and some sushi.

This is not the first Ramen spot I’ve been to but this place is cool. Was recommended by my nephew and he was right about the food it hits the spot. The food looked and tasted amazing! Since it was my first time I went for the original Ramen (boring right)? No it wasn’t, it had chunks of chicken and other ingredients in it; bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, seaweed just to name a few. The serving size is big. I shared it with a friend. And we shared a sushi roll. My belly was hap

Great little ramen spot! — Go with a little time to wait for a table but know that you can request it and then go to nearby bar to relax for 20-30 min while waiting.

This is a very decent little corner shop. As far as Ramen goes, not too bad. It’s right outside of Little Italy, so not many other ramen places in the near by area, which is a bonus for them. We were seated very quickly, and served as such too. The main area is not that big, so I’d recommend parties of 6 or less, for ease of comfort. The facility as a whole is very clean and has a relaxed vibe. If I’m ever in the area again, and craving some Ramen, I’ll be sure to check then out.

Food was delicious, flavors were great, and service was fairly fast. 4 stars because I feel the ramen bowl could have been a bit bigger for the price. Maybe I’m a fatty, maybe I’m used to other spots where we get a bit more, I don’t know, try it out because it taste great and you decide.

So, I grew up in Japan, I’ve had ramen a third of the price that blows this stuff away. The flavor is decent overall, but something was lacking. The portion of noodles in the bowl was just a little too small. The pork was really good. The serving is really tiny for the price paid, really, it should be no more than 8 bucks per bowl (with all the stuff you see in there in my picture) if this is how their serving size works. You can see my reviews of ramen I’ve had recently in Japan and see the difference immediately. Presentation had almost no effort, and that is one of the most important aspects of Japanese food. The broth was perfect. There was no hot sesame oil offered, just sesame seeds everywhere…the intent is good, but it’s not the same.

This is a Japanese ramen noodles restaurant. You have to pay in advance at cashier like other fast foods restaurant and get order number and wait for your food.

Delicious ramen and sushi. Good deal to go during lunch hours (11 – 2). Trendy decor in the inside and delicious food. Cool that you can see the chefs practicing their craft while you eat as well.

I gave Rakiraki a try instead of going to my favorite ramen place down the street. I was disappointed.
