Finding a Japanese food place, let alone a good one, in this area can be a bit difficult, but Ramen of York smashed it out of the park. The salad was a little heavy with the dressing, but the ramen was full-flavored and rich, and the karaage rice bowl surprised me with how crispy the chicken was and how gelatinous the rice was (my personal preference). I definitely will return. There isn’t any parking, but it’s within walking distance for me, so that’s not an issue in my case.

Solid ramen place in the middle of everything in highland park. Tried the blaze, (spicy tonkotsu) ramen. Very creamy and rich, not too spicy! Would definitely recommend. Didn’t feel overpriced and was pretty filling. Their rice bowls seemed pretty good too, had a bite of the teriyaki chicken and it was well flavored and tender. Friendly staff and fast service too.

This area is generally a good pick for food, but we craved Ramen and Ramen of York came in recommended. We went there with 4 people and absolutely loved the food and the service. The service is very personable and chatted with our waiter who was very passionate about all things food and his family. As for the food quality – the broth of the ramen was very tasty and moreish, nice and rich. Also the portion size was plentiful making you feel very satisfied afterwards. The quality of the belly pork also is spot on! Well worth the visit. It can definitely can get quite busy in the area around Friday and weekends, so make sure you plan ahead as this place is well worth the visit.

First time coming to their York location. The quality is the same as their OG Silverlake location. If you’re coming for lunch, I recommend the combo ramen + rice bowl + appetizer. It’s worth it.

Food is great. Not the fastest or most attentive service but if you’re not in a hurry that might not be a big deal. They are very friendly. Atmosphere is like a cafeteria, despite having table service, with tables close together. That also might not be a big deal, as long as you don’t get sat next to the guy we had on the next table, who had no volume control but did have plenty of loud opinions on film theory, and thought the whole restaurant needed to hear them. No-one ever told him to use his inside voice, I guess, and it made conversation impossible for everyone else. Not the restaurant’s fault of course, so no stars deducted, but I guess his penchant for shouting opinions to the world must have rubbed off on me…

The place has good food if you can get it on time. Unfortunately we had to walk out recently. Just a simple order too. Took 45 minutes and the other twosome who sat down after us was eating already. There’s no excuse for that. We had a couple of simple rice bowls, lol. It seems when I checked with other friends they’ve had problems with the timely service. I’m guessing it has something to do with what’s going on in the kitchen, not necessarily the service folks but gosh I recall the last time I was here I had a problem with my order being late, as well. “To-go” is not bad though…
