The food was delicious and well prepared! The eel cold noodles were well balanced with sweet and salty; the ramen miso soup noodles were tasty. The restaurant is located at a quiet neighborhood near Union Lake. It takes time to wait for our orders prepared. The ventilation is poor, our clothes had food smells so strong after our visit. Overall the price value is great with such wonderful food.

This place seems like a more traditional sit-in restaurant, but there’s two things to keep in mind:

Very average ramen and gyozas, I expected more taste with the sauce and ramen but it tasted very plain. Also the quantity was very small compared to the bowl size (majority of soup). service however was good and quick but I went early so it wasnt full yet

Great quality Japanese food and will come back again. I have been to Japan multiple times and this restaurant is spot on. Small place but cozy and great customer service. I like parking is available for free too. Overall, good value for quality, quantity, taste, presentation, and price. Highly recommend.

I live really close by to this place so I go very often. It’s a hit or miss place for me as the Ramen is a little inconsistent. Most times it’s good but two times it felt undercooked. The place is open till 10pm though!

Wonderful place for a lunch all by myself! The JoJo en Teishoku 定食 was really good! The beef was tender and flavorful with the sauce, and came in a good portion. The other small dishes were also good and subtle in their flavors. Nothing was overcooked, and everything was just delicious. The place is close to the Lake union and fun to walk over.

I had the lighter broth and it was near perfection. It didn’t leave weight in your mouth but yet was so full of complex flavors. I haven’t had a ramen broth like this, without a doubt unique and in a class of their own. Beautiful yellow color. I paired it with miso which was perfection. The noodles was top notch, had a good texture and tasted fresh. The only disappointing component was the topping, which was bare and minimal. It left me wanting more, as if the bowl was incomplete. It tore at my heart. Would had love it give it a perfect score if it wasn’t for this component.

Great neighborhood spot. Solid selection of Japanese favorites. We tried the Tiger sushi roll, takoyaki (battered and fried octopus), and gyoza and all were fantastic. Can’t wait to go back to try the ramen. Also, loved the diy fresh blood orange sour and getting to squeeze out the orange myself!

Love the kind hospitality and delicious Japanese food we discovered at Teinei! Japanese owners make fresh noodles here! We dug into the Shoyu ramen, Mabo Ramen, Tan Tan noodles with flavorful broth and good portions! Definitely recommend those and the appetizers we had — karaage and chicken thigh yakitori were well seasoned! We also sampled the curry as a combo to our ramen and it was perfect — well seasoned, a touch of sweet and savory.

Hands down one of the better ramen places I’ve been to. Service was incredible, they were super friendly and welcoming the second I walked through the door. Even when I left the chefs said goodbye to me, phenomenal service.
