Just visited the Rancher Butcher Cafe in Bend, Oregon, and let me tell you, it’s a real gem. The customer service is phenomenal, they’ve got the balance just right, you know? Attentive but not intrusive. Felt very taken care of.

Excellent steaks, excellent food all around. You can tell they use fresh premium ingredients from the small dishes to the large steaks. The service was just as excellent as the food. This is on the higher end of a pricey steak houses in Bend, Oregon but we’ll worth it. Especially if you are one that rarely eats at places such as this.

Our steaks were cooked to perfection! If not the BEST, it’s definitely in the top 3 of best steaks I’ve ever had. The service was outstanding (I forgot my reading glasses and the waiter provided me with a box full of glasses to select from so I didn’t have to go in my car to get it). Highly recommended – make reservations in advance because they were very busy even on a Tuesday!

Rancher Butcher Chef in Bend, Oregon is an outstanding dining experience that truly exceeded our expectations. From the moment we walked in, we were captivated by the high-class and sophisticated environment, perfectly balanced with modern artistic touches and the impressive display of horns on the walls.

This is a must try for any meat eater. Vegetarians please stay away. The service, food quality, quantity and atmosphere were all top notch. Pricing was very fair as well. We had cowboy steak, corn, steak tartar, bone marrow, liver mouse. All were sensational. We will make this a mandatory stop every time we visit Bend.

Outstanding and very attentive service. Several ultra delicious dishes, including the almond cake, endive salad, and the house brioche popups. Venue can be a little loud when it’s full.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at dinner last night. The service was superb, the food was beyond our expectations (totally didn’t think to take pics). We ordered the bone marrow, tartare, Snake River Rib Eye, creamed cabbage & baked potato. It was definitely enough food for 2 to share. I understand what folks mean when they mention the noise level. It is definitely not a swanky, white linen, stuffy type of atmosphere. We sat the the chef’s bar and enjoyed every minute of it, I considered it dinner with a show 🙂 It was great to watch the kitchen staff at work. If you are looking for a peaceful, quiet atmosphere, this is not the place but, if you can deal with the noise level then the food definitely makes up for it! The service was impeccable. While we had an “assigned” server, everyone really chips in to make the experience enjoyable between filling our water, making sure we have clean utensils, checking in with us and the attention we received for our special occasion visit. We will be back!

Amazing, amazing quality and taste. About $150 for 2 people plus cocktails (not including tip). If you are in Bend,OR a couple days and want a very nice meal out, stop in. Its away from downtown/Old Mill and absolutely worth your time. Puts chain steak to shame (even the high end ones).

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner for their soft opening week. The restaurant is beautiful and very well put together. We tried a large portion of the menu items and were very pleased! Some favorites to point out are the warm harissa olives and hush puppies to start. The hush puppies may have been my favorite thing we had.. The sweet potatoes gratin was delicious and filled with spice. The chefs mixed plate was a great option to be able to sample a few other things besides just steak, the sausages were great. Overall everything was fantastic, being only the third day open there was definitely some areas needing improvement but we are sure they will get everything ironed out and dialed in a few weeks. The staff was all wonderful and friendly and checked in on us frequently. I would highly recommend you check it out. We can’t wait to be able to purchase from the butcher shop as well.
