This place has completely fell off. When Randy’s was first introduced to the AV it was so good compared to now. The chicken lacks flavor and can tell it was fried in old grease. The yams aren’t cooked all the way through. Also the batter has changed on the chicken, it looks like it was fried in beer batter and completely ruined my appetite. 2/10

What in the world happened??? I just ordered Uber eats, my chicken looks like a deformed alien and is super greasy and mushy. It’s appearance is horrible. The breading is disgusting. The chicken is slimy. What happened to just using chicken fry or flour? And it taste just like the fish, you guys use the same grease or something? The sides are good. Mac looks old. You guys used to be so much better.

Very good fresh food. Almost did not go check it out because of the first three reviews but they were not valid. Glad we went. The chicken was fire never had chicken in the batter they use. Fresh and hot. My friend got the fried catfish yams, Mac and cheese and red beans and rice. The sides are a good portion and all the sides were a hit. Yams were fully cooked and rice and beans had a lot of flavor. We live in Vegas and happen to stop by and glad we did. We didn’t get the gumbo fries but another customer did and they looked very good. We were to greedy and didn’t take no pictures. You can’t go wrong with the chicken and waffles. the owner is very friendly and patient with his customers.

Had been super excited to eat here since it opened. Went recently one afternoon, completely empty, worker (owner?) behind the register in disheveled street clothes. Ordered a piece of chicken and some mac n’ cheese, so he went into the back to cook it. Came out 15 minutes later. Chicken was hot with decent crisp, but very little flavor. Grease may have been older. Mac was average, nothing to write home about. I LOVE fried chicken and soul food, but would sadly probably pass and look for other options next time.

All these five star reviewers should be ashamed for misleading everyone. I only ordered here because of the high rating but next time I’ll just not be lazy and drive out to LA for good soul food. Out of 2 full meals each with 2-3 sides, we only ate the chicken and greens. Everything else I took 2 bites of and was grossed out. Not just taste but texture is REALLY off. Yams were undercooked, fruity pebble waffles were soggy, eggs were soggy, and potatoes were overseasoned and soggy. Won’t be back again.

I was very disappointed with the fried chicken. The coating/batter on my chicken leg tasted like fish. The coating/batter of my chicken thigh tasted like old grease. I ordered take out. I should have checked the quality of my order before I got home. I could not eat the chicken. I ordered fries. The fries were good, but they were drenched with too much seasoning.

So was kinda disappointed. Considering the reviews and missing some soul/Caribbean food with being fairly new to Cali, I thought this was about to my savior. But everything was really just okay, at least from what I ordered. Everything, and I been everything that we ordered was salty. Oxtail, Cajun beans, gumbo fries, greens, Mac and cheese and more. Let alone, for $26 for oxtail, I would have thought I would have gotten more than 2 medium pieces and 3 small pieces. It looks like a lot in picture but the bed of rice it sits on makes it look like more than it actually is. I should have went with my guy instinct and tried the chicken and catfish but I really wanted oxtail without the need to cook it myself. Guess my hunt for good oxtail in the area will continue. The serving portions of the sides that come with the meal were also disappointing a bit. The chicken seems to have good reviews so would probably recommend to try that instead. I’m always open to giving a place a second chance if i think there’s some potential so I’ll do the chicken next time.

I got the gumbo fries because it looked good online. When we got it it was basically nothing but cheese. I had to take all the cheese on top off if I wanted to live and not have a heart attack or constipation. It tasted ok. The shrimp and grits were cool, the grits were really creamy. They definitely need better customer service. I didn’t mind the wait, about 30 minutes. I only saw one man there but he needs to work on his soft skills. It was our first time there and we were required to wait outside for our order because of Covid. But it was hot in there anyway so that was ok. However, when my daughter went in to see if the food was ready or how long it would be, he was rude and acted like he didn’t know what she was talking about, soft skills. They call you when the order is ready, we didn’t know that.

First off I hadn’t been here in almost a year, because they had changed up their chicken recipe but baby when I say that crispy, flakey, juicy taste was dead on this past weekend I went, it was ! Spent the evening watching the World Series enjoying a plate of Ox Tail and one chicken thigh to sample. The Ox Tail was seasoned well and tasty. The chicken taste good. I need to try it with waffle next time. The restroom was clean and smell fresh. The customer service was great and the cook was nice. The dining area was clean and inviting. Plenty of parking outside. The food took a long time, but that is to be expected for good quality food, besides the big screen TV kept us entertained. Overall, I expected a more crowded room with the good food served here.
