This place has really gone down hill. Should have read other reviews. Food not as shown we were only people in dining room on Friday fish fry nite. I’m downing Rolaids. Very unkempt. Taxidermy on dining tables and chairs strewn. Over salted fries. Sandwiches not as advertised. Definitely done here. Seems like it’s just a liquor bar now.

I’ve been going to Ray’s since he’s been open. By far some of the best food in the Northwoods and amazing Pizza. Ray’s a great guy with great stories and it’s always a fun time stopping in.

Decent pizza. Note that a large is 18″ (more like a extra large at most other restaurants). The pizza isn’t cheap. One topping large runs you over $23 and a two topping is about $30.

Avoid dining in during fish fry. Our food took over an hour and multiple groups left before their food arrived. Ray Jays seems to cater to the to-go orders instead of dine in customers.

Another Wisconsin tavern with excellent food. The owner Ray is a hell of a nice guy. Top notch pizza along with huge portion sizes on just about anything you order. No complaints here.

6/10/22 My husband and I stopped for dinner. We got the last open table.l was going to get the pizza but the waitress said the wait for that would be over an hour. So I got the mushroom Swiss burger and it was the best one I’ve ever had. An unbelievable brown gravy lightly covering the meat was even better than my mom made. It took over an hour too but we are on vacation and had plenty of time. Some people were getting irritated about the wait… but my son is a chef in Minneapolis and I knew there was only one chef, one bartender and one waitress/dishwasher and a full house. It was worth the wait and we will be back for the pizza next time because it looked incredible walking by! And we learned a valuable lesson about dinner in the region during tourist season. If you don’t want to wait ….get there when they open or an hour before closing! And a shout out to the waitress who bore the brunt of the irritated customers, you never lost your smile.
