We are Francesca and Matteo Ronzio from Italy. We fell in love with Boston after a trip to New England a few years ago, so we moved here and opened Real Italian Gusto to share a piece of our old home with our new home. When you join us in our shop, we invite you to experience the authentic flavors and dining customs of Italy — and when we say authentic, we mean it. Many of our ingredients are imported from back home. Even our brick oven is from Florence. And our fifth-generation pizza chef? He’s from Naples. But it takes more than handmade pasta and imported olive oil to make a meal truly Italian. The heart of our little restaurant is our hospitality.

We went here before a show at a near by theater, so I think the place was busier than they usually are. But the staff was still pleasant, as quick as they could be and the appetizers we got were really good. They have artichokes wrapped in prosciutto that are so good!

Hidden gem. Kind staff, delicious food, great cocktails. Real homemade pasta cooked perfectly. Salads are simple, fresh and bright (just a splash of vinegar in the Sarda). The pizza has the best crust, perfectly seasoned, and high quality toppings. And the bartender besides making a perfect dirty martini, sometimes sings with the music playing in the background.

My friend and I decided to stop by here after having walked by many times and never having been inside. The place looks small when you first enter and from the outside, but once you walk in a little ways, there are many more tables and in fact a gorgeous view of the mystic river that you would never even get a hint at from the street.
