My last visit to this place was in December of 2012 and I am finally getting around to this review now, but it is a well deserved review. This is the best BBQ anywhere in the country outside Memphis TN. (sorry Chicago). I have had BBQ coast to coast and other than Interstate BBQ in Memphis, this is the best I have had (Arthur Bryants is Kansas City is close though). I first ate at Red Brick in 2008 and loved it so much that I planned my last trip out to LA in 2012 in such a way as to be sure to have a chance to stop again. They have odd hours. They close for like 3 hours mid-day. I had to wait and hour and a half, sitting in my car and reading, until the re-opened, but it was worth the wait. Their brisket is the best I have had anywhere. So perfectly perfectly crisp along its edges and soft, tender and fresh in the center. Meat cooked the way it was meant to be. I have literally dreamed of it several times since. These guys really know what fresh, real BBQ meat is all about. Real serious BBQ craftsmanship. If you head West (or East I guess) along I-70, make sure you make this one of your must stops. I now think of Red Brick BBQ as much as I think of the Rocky Mountains when I think of Colorado. So wish they weren’t over a thousand miles from home.

THE WORST EXPERIENCE. THE PLACE IS GROSS. THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT SHOULD SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN. YOU WALK IN AND SEE INTO THE KITCHEN AND BACK ROOM AND IT IS SO DIRTY AND GROSS LOOKING, THEIR HOMEMADE SAUCES ARE HORRIBLE THEY SHOULD TRY THEIR STUFF BEFORE PUTTING IT OUT TO THE PUBLIC. THE PORK WAS DRY AND WAY OVER COOKED, THE BEANS WERE BAD, THE MAC AND CHEESE WAS LIKE WATERED DOWN WAL-MART BRAND, THE TOAST WAS PLAIN TOAST WITH NOTHING ON IT. I WILL SAY IF YOU WANT SOME AVERAGE STEAK FRIES AND SWEET TEA THIS COULD BE A PLACE TO GO AND SPEND TOO MUCH. THE LEMONADE TASTED LIKE WATER AND LEMONS. THEY EVEN TRIED TO MAKE THEIR OWN HOMEMADE KETCHUP AND IT TASTED LIKE STRAIGHT VINEGAR. THEY WON’T BE GETTING MY BUSINESS AGAIN. DON’T TRY THIS PLACE YOU WILL JUST WASTE YOUR MONEY.
