We came up to visit friends that love the Red Onion and it’s their go to place for sandwiches & salads! Reviewers may have not been so happy in months prior due to change in ownership but they have got their groove back! Everything we had was amazing! I was so happy to find a portobello sandwich I could have on Gluten free bread, so yummy! The meat loaf sandwhich my husband had was the bomb! Clean ,friendly environment right by the beach, you can’t go wrong in this eatery!!!

We’ve been here many times in the past, but ever since the new owners have taken over the quality, service, and management seem to struggle.I Asked for the scallop kebabs, ( that were on the big menu in the back ) was told they didn’t have them. ( then asked for the vanilla thrill salad/ also on the menu in the back/ but didn’t have. ) not sure why’d you open a restaurant and not change the big menu in the back of the restaurant, that everyone sees and orders off of. The couple next to us had the same complaints.. Very unprofessional, not to mention how dirty and sticky the tables are. Hands down the Worst restaurant on the beach by far! food was greasy and little to no servers waited for a while to ask for a fork. Ended up having to stand at the counter until someone served me. overall concept makes no sense. Avoid this place!!!!! Won’t be back

I was wondering what changed from the last time I ate here when it was amazing and it sounds like new owners took over. The last 2 times I ate here it was phenomenal, had the grouper reuben and turkey gobbler. I was craving the grouper reuben so I got one and sadly it was not the same quality as before. The bread had none of the perfectly buttered toastiness that it usually does, the fish was very fishy tasting and grey, it was fried too hot where the outside was too hard and the inside still had raw batter. The slaw wasn’t as flavorful as before and it sogged up the whole sandwich. If you’re charging $22 for a sandwich, the customer expects it to be executed well. I might try them one more time to see if this is the new trend or if they just had an off day.
