We stopped in one evening when another option fell through. It was a Wednesday evening and even though there were 8 of us they were able to seat us outside right away. There is plenty of both outside and inside seating. Our server was friendly and attentive. Everything was delicious! We had several appetizers and I had the special which was a filet with crab meat on top. Everything was cooked perfectly. We would certainly return.

Food was pretty great as seen in the attached photos. Only complaint is that the steak came without a knife. When we asked for one the waitress asked if my daughter could cut it with her butter knife. Steak was well done instead of med. It’s saving grace was that it was a filet, which kinda makes it a bit of a travesty. We’ll be back despite these little misteps.

We love the food here. The waitress excused in advance for longer wait times as they are understaffed. We didn’t notice it, as the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. And was great, and the waitress was very friendly. Highly recommend this place.

Was really disappointed in this place. The website touted they would customize a meal if you have dietary needs. Both my husband and I are vegetarian and when we asked if the chef could offer to make something special they said this is the one thing you can order on the menu (vegetarian curry). We were a little disappointed since I don’t like curry. Husband ordered it and said it was ok. I had a mediocre salad. Wasn’t anything special. Service was non existent. Waiter never came to refill our waters and barely put any effort out. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you are vegan or vegetarian. It was also loud in restaurant, freezing and the bathrooms were disgusting.

Drinks and food we good, not great. Ordered a Greek salad with mahi, asked if the kitchen could make it a chopped salad. The server informed me it was a chopped salad. It was not. Mahi was very bland. Others in our party enjoyed their dishes. Excellent crab dip!

Party of 8 (4A,4K) during Easter break. It was a nice enough evening and asked if we could sit outside. Staff were accommodating and wiped down tables for us. Food was great, server was personable and checked on us several times. Outside seating was nice and from what I saw of interior look pleasant as well, but small as most OBX restaurants are. Had the deep fried seafood plate…. The batter was lite, crispy, and not greasy at all. During servers recommendations the server thought it to be a bit heavy , I didn’t think it was. Would definitely go there again.

Definitely NOT impressed with Red Sky Cafe! They are not accommodating with kids or dietary restrictions. We tried to order an omelette with egg whites but our Server Madison O. Said that the kitchen didn’t have egg whites. They do however have regular fresh eggs. It was completely lost on her that they did in fact have the materials to accommodate egg whites. After this we just asked if we could have the side of toast that came with the omelette and to add avocado (which came in the omelette) and she said that the kitchen was unable to add avocado to the toast with no additional explanation. We were one of only 3 tables occupied in the cafe and the staff were very inattentive, no refills on coffee or waters. It’s truly not difficult to be friendly and accommodating especially when you have an empty restaurant! If you’re looking for a cute Sunday Brunch option in the Outer Banks look somewhere else!

Our apps were good our server was good but our main courses all had issues. The Waygu burger was way over cooked, we ordered 3 chicken parm Mac and cheese – ALL were cold. When we told the server they offered to recook or microwave. Considering we had four other people with entrees we opted to microwave which wasn’t great. And it wasn’t Mac and cheese it was pesto pasta. Overall just average to not good and surprising considering how much we love the sister restaurant.

We decided to hire a chef on call from Red Sky for our mother’s 90th birthday. We could not be more pleased with how everything turned out. Chef Chory and Dillon arrived at our house on time and were amazing. We were blown away by how delicious all the food was with enough variety to please the group. Everyone agrees that hiring these two again will become at least an annual event. Thank you Chory and Dillon.
