The restaurant is located on Mission Street near Geneva Avenue and is a spot for many gatherings where families and friends get together to enjoy the authentic traditional Salvadorean and Mexican dishes which are prepared with the client’s satisfaction in mind. Many of our clients say that the food reminds them of their grandma or mom’s cooking, of their childhood growing up in El Salvador.
Reina Gomez, the owner, is always happy to greet her customers, some who have been returning since she first open the doors in 1991.

My beef milanesa $14 (thin cut, breaded and pan fried) was delicious. If you dine-in, it comes with free chips and salsa and two pupusas. That was a lot of food because the plate already comes with beans, fried potatoes, rice and a salad. My favorite part is dipping the pupusas into the beans and rice, then taking a bite of the beef. This was a good lunch.

Hidden spot in SF for local Salvadoran taste and atmosphere. Pupusas are all great and soup are delicious. The place is busy with a lot of takeout orders so service tends to be slow. But people are all nice.

Good service, large portions. Restaurant could be cleaner. The food is authentic but sadly it tasted like it was made with lard and it was bland. Pupusas are not cooked through. Expensive too.

On Friday afternoon I called in for pick up (popusas) because usually when you order it takes about an hour for the food to be ready. The worker there on the phone was EXTREMELY RUDE. I start out with “Hi I like to order two popusas for pick up” She for some reason yelled on the phone said “don’t call me!!! I’m busy okay I’m busy bye don’t call me back!!! Hung up the phone and left me with confusion. I don’t recommend this place. Bad customer services

I ordered a burrito which is an odd choice on my part since it’s a Salvadorian place. The regular burrito comes with rice, refried beans, and either carne asada, shredded chicken, or grilled chicken. I got shredded chicken and it had good flavor with its tomato-y sauce, but the chicken was a bit dry. I liked the flavor of the salsa they give with the chips. The food took a little long to come out but the staff were all really nice. I’ll be back to try the pupusas and more typical Salvadorian plates.

A staple salvi spot for locals on Mission near Geneva. They are open for takeout during the shutdown. ALWAYS CALL AHEAD – they are busy, short-staffed, and delicious, so there will always be a wait. To anyone hating on the wait time, remember that good things take time. It’s worth the wait but you will hate yourself for not calling ahead, and will remember my name . The empanadas are a good size, not teeny like at other places, and the pupusas are juicy, cheesy, and big. The revueltas vary from restaurant to restaurant, but here it’s the great trio: chicharron, beans, and cheese- my fave!
