Very satisfying roadside BBQ in a small town really out there in Colorado. This was my 393rd BBQ joint I gave eaten out. Wonderful indoor dining…but we stopped for the outdoor dining under a small grove of trees perfect for dining with our ole Jack Russell. Loved talking with the passionate owner. Menu is not extensive…but fast, large portions and quality food. Best fried okra we have had in years! Slow cooked sweet potatoes were as good as people have said they were. Mountains in the background were spectacular!!! The owner is expanding the restaurant to handle ever increasing demand…a real success story!

Stopped in for a bite on our way back from the Valley. Bought the brisket sandwich, one side dish and a can of Coke. My wife got the Chicken sandwich sans the bun, coleslaw side and a water. With tax 33 bucks. First, the brisket was good I will give them that. Chicken was good too. The bad, brisket was just on a bun with a little sauce added. My side dish was mac n cheese which was a kraft or generic version. Small portion of coleslaw. For what was received, my opinion it was over priced. Long wait for food. Only two people working so there is that AND it appeared like a steady stream of ppl. I get it. Still, for the money another side would be appropriate and ice for the drinks would be nice. Will I stop again? Probably not but there are others who love the place so maybe an off day?

A good place in a pinch, but nothing to write home about. The ribs were a little dry, the beans are Bush’s, and the mac & cheese is Kraft, but the staff is polite and the food’s not bad overall. Prices are reasonable, and they’re close to Great Sand Dunes National Park

Great food. Huge portions. You have to try the pulled pork nachos. Never had anything like them before. Fried mushrooms and jalapeño poppers were perfectly fried and tons of flavor. Perfect amount of heat. Would def recommend this place. Staff is super nice and friendly and you will walk out full and holding left overs.

Visited after a great day at the Sand Dunes. Staff members were super nice and really cared about your food and overall experience. The 3 of us has the pulled pork sandwich, the ribs, and the wings. Everything was really good and was perfectly smoked. The only thing I’d say is if you’re expecting the pineapple habanero sauce to be spicy at all, it isn’t :(. But overall, it’s a must stop either on your way to or from the dunes!

This restaurant was amazing. Our first time eating here and the service was incredible. All the meats were juicy and fresh. The sides were also delish. Looking forward to our next trip here.

It’s fantastic .I spoke with owners and they were well traveled officiants on BBQ. great lunch spot to grab a quick bite to eat or a pulled pork sandwich while on the road, there’s also a park bench underneath the big tree next door .Great little barbecue dive with a good atmosphere . If you want good luck while on the road and passing through Fort Garland or going over the pass be sure and find, “Shatter” ,the unofficial Town mascot and Big fun-loving blonde brindle Pitbull.
