Was closed at 920 am on a Monday. No cars and door was locked, but sign in the door still said open. I was looking forward to trying this place. Oh well. We went to the landing and had a good breakfast there.

Very nice restaurant. Had the country fried steak, French fries, cornbread and cole slaw- it was very good, the gravy was excellent! Cole slaw was good, more of a vinegar taste. The cornbread was different with it being in the style of a pancake. Also ordered the Philly cheesesteak sandwich and some of the best onion rings! The sweet tea was perfect and a huge glass! Lemon pie was very good as well. All homemade! We’ll come back again when we visit Rock Island State Park again (only 10 minutes away).

Perfect spot for some country cooking. Our family was in town staying at the cabins at the park which was about 10 minutes from the restaurant. Let me first say the size of their sweet tea and drinks is exactly what a man likes! They had to be 36oz plus. The service was very good as well. The food was delicious. The macNcheese was really good and the chicken fijita plate I ate was full of flavor. We got a couple pieces of pie and cake when we left and all of it was good but the banana pudding was perfect! Def worth a stop.

Best food in Midway!!! We went around 2:30pm on Saturday everything was fresh and yummy. All the ladies were nice and the restaurant was very clean. Definitely put this down for lunch or supper if you’re in the Rock Island area! Or make a trip there just to eat, it’s worth it!!!

I absolutely enjoy the heck out of this place. It is such an eclectic hometown feel with absolutely delicious home cooked food. It didn’t give me the choice to tell you which food that I had so I will tell you. I had the hamburger steak with turnip greens, macaroni and cheese, white beans, and cornbread. I would highly recommend this place, and I will continue to eat here again and again to thumbs way up. I will take pictures next time.
