Having grown up in Carroll County and spent time in Mexico, I can tell you this is an authentic Mexican restaurant like I’ve never seen before in my home county! Great service, a neat mix of patrons speaking English and Spanish, and food “que rico!” – really good! I recommend try a mix and match variety of the tacos. And I think I’ll be back soon for the “mole” (moh-lay) – which I hear is homemade: a traditional Mexican sauce made with cocoa beans but spices instead of sugar – so amazing. Comfortable seating and very reasonable prices. Come get some real Mexican food, you Marylanders!

Ordered take out for lunch for 5 guests. Everyone tried something different and we all really enjoyed our meals. 1 guest was vegan and the taco salad bowl was perfect. All of the food was made fresh to order (authentic family recipes) and the family is lovely!! Highly recommend!

Food is authentic and fresh! Delicious burritos (what I got) and the taco bowls were yummy and beautiful. Everything we got we were blown away by! Including vegan options. Family owned and operated which I adore and they gave our family two cucumbers for free out of their garden, how sweet. Will be back every chance I’m in town! Thank you for everything!!!

That is a massive NOPE from me. I have been feasting on Mexican cuisine for decades and this is NOT it. Never have I ever had a taco with about a spoon full of meat spread thin on it (photo for scale). The interior smells of old cigarettes and potpourri. There are no sounds or smells of a kitchen, very odd. I added one star for the made to order Horchata and the lady was nice, but that is it. All of these five-star reviews have me feeling some kind of way about what people find good. I don’t think I would eat at their house.

I grow up in Southern California. This is the only Mexican restaurant in carroll county that reminds me of the food back home. I’ve never had a bad experience and the food is always fresh & delicious. The Family takes time To have a conversation with their customers. I absolutely love this place.

They have excilent service and you can tell if you meet them that they have passion for what they do. Last time I was there I had a chance to see how they would deal with a group of rude young adults that seemed to come there only to lecture them on how a restaurant works and to complain about everything in sight. Those customers that day where rude and hostile and the two employees on shift handled it like profesionals. If the owner gets a chance to read this review I hope they realise that they are making it. Keep up the great work everyone at Restaurant La Jarochita!
