The service, food, and price are all exceptional. We came here to celebrate my spouse’s birthday. I’m thinking we will come here again in February for our anniversary.

BEST RESTAURANT in the area!!! I’m a Chef and I’ve taken my fiance here 3 times this past year. Everything was awesome, and the experience was just as good as the last. I go out to good restaurants to eat something I cant make for the same price. At restaurant Michael I feel 100% great about spending my hard earned money on absolutely delicious food. The only thing I don’t like is the location, which is 1 hour south of us.

Great food, an outstanding chef, and great staff! Excellent soft shell crabs, sweetbreads, and terrific roasted duck with crispy skin! What more can you ask for? Chef Michael is a great guy and he makes it a priority to chat with his customers! Delicious dessert menu offers something for all tastes.

Michaels restaurant is definitely a first class experience and the food is excellent. I have read some of the comments on goggle and don’t understand what some people expect from a restaurant. If you have any experience with french cuisine, you know the portions are small, but anyone with true dining experience would prefer a smaller portion that’s phenomenal over a larger portion that’s average. The waiters are excellent and very attentive. This is not a restaurant that will serve 400 to 500 a night, so there has to be excellent service to remain profitable. We have been there 4 times and it just gets better each time. Strongly recommended!!!!!!!

Scary place. Have been there many times and enjoyed our meal. Left a review on another site “Love the place, but the wine dinner was disappointing.”

Lovely, old school elegance. No molecular gastronomy (which has it’s place), just darn great food presented in inspired ways. The flavors and wine pairings were spot on. All the senses were engaged. Even the dinnerware was intriguing, one might say sensual. It was a sexy-food experience.

A small little place you might never notice unless someone put you in the know. Absolutely outstanding food. Every single bite is polished and perfected before it leaves the kitchen. Affordable French food with a great, down to earth proprietor and crew. A+ in every way whether you want to be in and out or get a 4 course meal. You don’t have to head to Chicago for top notch food plus you avoid the hassles of the city and pretentious people & atmosphere and some city spots. PLEASE do yourself a favor and try this!

Fantastic restaurant. Our second time here and we cannot wait to go back. Very welcoming, great atmosphere and just a wonderful semi-formal fine dining restaurant. The food is superb, it’s a very intimate setting.

Last night was the second time my wife and I ate at Michael’s. The first time our Groupon was not honored so we rescheduled. Last night we had a 6:00pm reservation and were seated promptly. We had a 5 course dinner with 3 wine pairings. The food was good, portions were not small but tiny, and the service was incredibly poor. We skipped having coffee, even though it had been ordered, because it had still not been served after waiting about 10 minutes. We got our check at 8:30pm. Needless to say, even though the food was ok., we will not go back to Michael’s, ever.

Chef Michael Lachowicz is my hero. Great food! Prix Fixe is a deal, but more than that the way they have layered, the courses compliment each other. Its a definite must visit, for a special occasion, or just a nice evening with friends. Don’t miss the dark chocolate souffle. Service is 4 star!
