We attempted the Italian Bizarre and opted for Ribollita instead. We are so glad we did. First, we recommend reservations. We lucked out with a last-minute table this evening. The interior is quaint. We opted for a bottle of Chianti. It tasted well, but my husband would have preferred the server to refill our glasses. We ordered a Caesar salad to share. It was a hefty portion. It’s definitely enough to share. The complimentary bread was, eh? The bread tasted stale and could have used oil for dipping. For our main meal I chose the ravioli and my partner chose the gnocchi. Both meals were hearty and full of flavor. The pan sear on the gnocchi was unique and added a bite I didn’t expect. We’ll be back!

We are an early dinner here last night and the service and food were phenomenal! My husband had the chicken puttanesca which was incredible. The chicken was able to be cut with a fork and melted in your mouth. I ordered the butternut squash ravioli (handmade pasta) with a hazelnut sauce/butter. Wow. Such unique flavors yet so homey all at once. Definitely a “food HUG” from all this. I’d highly recommend on anyone’s trip to Portland if they are wanting something besides seafood.

Fairly small menu, but anything with fresh, handmade pasta gets a recommendation from me! Ravioli was unique and exciting, a rare find. The menu is fairly small, but if you’re in the mood for fresh Italian classics, you don’t need a big menu. Atmosphere was a bit lacking, but that could have just been the day. Looking forward to visiting again to try more of the menu!

We found Ribollita when we were in Portland Maine for the weekend and craving Italian food. It’s a quaint and intimate spot. Very quiet in spite of being so busy. The service was very good and not overwhelming. The food was very good and simply prepared, not overdone as many places seem to do today. We had a calimari appetizer that was lightly breaded with polenta and just the right amount of oil and lemon. Very well done. Definitely give Ribollita a visit if you are in Portland Maine!!

Not worth even the reasonable prices. Caesar dressing was tasteless, salad was absolutely drenched in dressing. Gnocchi dish was a flop although the prosciutto was awesome however the dish lacks a sauce and flavor. It was so dry and flavorless. I was excited for some great homemade Italian but this place is a miss. 3 stars because I didn’t get sick, the service was fine and the atmosphere was nice. Would I come back? No

The food was amazing, the service was very cordial and best part is there was no wait when we went. We were tired of waiting nearby restaurant so went here and it was very very fulfilling. We had the eggplant and salmon florentine and it was very well done. Very Tasty !!

Wife and I had a great dinner experience. We stopped in and didn’t have reservations. Luckily it was early enough and they sat us right away. I would recommend reservations if you’re going anytime after 530. Wait staff was great, made excellent recommendations, and was very prompt, will be going back.

The food is great–my favorite italian spot. Small and cozy –it’s usually not too noisy and service is good. Reservations are a must, but worth it.
