Was looking for some mid-grade sushi, so expectations were low. Ended up throwing my roll away after one bite. No bones to pick with owner other than food was inedible. Edited review to clarify as owner’s response made it seem like I thought I was going to a white tablecloth establishment. I was going to to strip mall, and I still expected better – I mean edible – food.

We love this place! Truly my favorite restaurant in the area. After living in Japan for years, we are tough critics and Rice Cafe is 5 stars! Huge portions, fresh, always polite. Wonderful customer service! Do yourself a favor and try it out!

I don’t like to complain, but the experience was terrible. Dine in but Styrofoam plates. Tiny flavorless sushi. Bland flavorless rice. Very little protein in a 15 dollar entree, I feel like I got robbed and not just being all large portion American about it. What you get for the money is not worth it. The entire business seems to be based on cost control to the point that the client is no longer served. They will get business as the only asian food in town, but at this time I would not recommend this place to anyone.

We order take out from Rice Cafe at least once a week. The servings are plentiful and the food tastes great! Very fresh, excellent quality and fast service. Love having a restaurant of this quality nearby in Gluckstadt.
