I expected great things, and I was disappointed. Service was slow and horrible. They had some kind of event happening and instead of letting other non event patrons know there would be a longer wait time upon arrival, or having extra staff to service patrons who weren’t attending the event, I was seated, and had my drink order taken (unsweet tea) and delivered. Within 10 mins food order was taken. An hour later food showed up. I ordered the pan seared chicken breast with mushrooms and brown gravy a house salad and sweet potato fries. When the food finally arrived it was plated nicely and the portions were large. Much more than I could eat. First bite wasn’t too bad. A bit dry, but gravy helped. Second bite was extremely dry, salty and chewy. Nothing helped. I ate one chicken breast and the salt flavor just intensified, so much so that I couldn’t eat the second one. Sweet potato fries were decent. No added salt or flavor to them. The house salad was decent. The banana peppers that came with them were mushy, but the ranch tasted freshly made. They have a small Starbucks inside the place but no actual barista and not many things an outside Starbucks would have. So getting a custom drink isn’t possible. They did have a dessert menu, but $8 for a small dessert wasn’t a great option as far as pricing goes. My total was around $21.90 for my food and drink. When the waitress came by, I asked if they were always like this or if it was just because of an event. She couldn’t really answer me and became flustered. I would have increased the star rating if I had been told that our wait time would be longer than normal, or if someone had apologized. But there all the staff was attending the event and no staff were attending the other patrons there. Honestly not worth the price or going to this place to me because of the service and salty food.

Nice place, kind people. Great salad, excellent onion rings. Chicken fried steak was way over cooked and tough. If you order the BLT, take a magnifying glass to see the bacon. Not much thin bacon to be seen. Waitress came by many times, asking if everything was OK, but was walking by and was gone before you could say anything and everyone’s glass was empty. Don’t know if I am willing to give them another chance.

Rice Country Grill is not really visible from the highway, but once you find it, you won’t be disappointed. The service is great. NORMA is a great hostess and makes sure you get what you ordered. The food is great and comes in big portions. Stop by, bring the Fam. The restaurant is huge but cozy at the same time.

was in El Campo and didn’t know where to go. Looked it up and my daughter picked. Glad she did! What a great dinner. Club sandwich, Pancakes and sausage and i had the steak kabob which was seasoned very well and VERY juicy. Usually kabobs are dry but i believe they cooked a steak and cut it up! Worked for me. One of the best steak kabobs i ever had. Wonderful. Will be back if around the area.

Son had the Chicken and Waffles and I had the Chicken Fried Steak. Best Chicken Fried Steak I have had. Food was fresh, hot, and seasoned to perfection. Service was great as well. Not sure what happened to others on their visit but they were on the ball today. I will be returning and bringing my friends!

It was not as good as I thought it would be nobody knows how to cook french fries they were horrible all the cooks look like they were under 18 years old it would help if they hired cooks that know how to cook the wait staff was very friendly with the cooks need to go to cooking school.

We had high hopes for this place, but it fell flat. I ordered the scrambled egg breakfast, and my fiance got the sausage and biscuit meal. First off, it’s an open concept so we can see the kitchen easily. While our meal was being cooked, all the Cooks left the kitchen and went outside. Half an hour later, when we got our food, my sausage was luke warm, my fiance biscuit and gravy were ice cold. So we sent back the biscuit and gravy. While waiting for it to come back, he tried his pancake to find out that was cold as well. They came back with the sausage and gravy, and I told the waitress the pancake was cold as well, and she just walked away. At that point, we were done. We walked to the checkout counter to let them know we were done and the food was cold. So the checkout lady went and got the boss, and we told him what happened. He was very nice and understanding. This place has a lot of potential, but they had a bunch of young kids working with no supervisor with them.
