It was my first time at this place. I got tricked by their awesome marketing material and didn’t realise it was a restaurant chain. And it definitely tasted like it 🙁 Not real maple syrup, white sugar, normal table salt, tasteless meals, average waffles. If you like fast and unhealthy food, then your taste buds are going to be happy, and I definitely recommend it. I gave it a couple of stars because the service was kind enough to get me some honey to be able to eat my dry waffle

Richard Walker’s Pancake House is a cafe in the Flower Hill shopping center in Del Mar. There are options to sit both indoor and outdoor, with both atmospheres being quite nice. There is a large selection of pancakes, waffles, omelettes, and other breakfast items. The staff is very friendly and attentive, while not being too overbearing. The corned beef hash is a favorite, as well as the strawberry waffle. Just be aware that a side of bacon can be a bit pricey. Overall, the experience is quite a nice place for breakfast, and is usually not too busy on the weekday, but the wait is not too bad on the weekends.

Took about 10 minutes to be served after being seated. This is our third time coming to this location since 2021. Last time we came our omelette was very dry. Today all of our food was very dry. They only came by once for coffee refills. Figured I would give it another try and was disappointed again. It’s a shame since the La Jolla cove location has always been spot on. Guess I’ll make the drive to go there next time…

Hey Richard Walker ordered 100 dollars worth of food to be delivered. No butter nor syrup we did however get lemon wedges and powdered sugar. We had 4 different sets of pancakes. Called someone on the line and they were so gracious. She offered for me to get in my car and come and pick up syrup. I live in Del Mar and if you have to be so cheap as to not include butter or syrup. The neighbors and I can put a collection plate together for .75 cents a day it would cost. Never go cheap. Or you won’t last here in Del Mar especially with the price of 21 dollars for a pancake

Amazing spot for baked goods and breakfast, I think we found our favorite local spot for pancakes. The Granny Smith Apple Cakes with Pecans added were incredible. Coffee excellent, host forgot the bacon.. so couldn’t opine on that, maybe next time. They have a birthday cake cake for kids, but Jasmine said it tasted like bread and not that great, so probably won’t order that again. Still the experience was near perfect and the service was wonderful.

A great place to start your day with breakfast here. They serve up one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in Southern California.

Food is delicious and portions are massive. Typical pancake plate has six 6″ cakes, enough for 2 or 3 people. Egg dishes are delicious. Crispy thick bacon. Perfect hash browns. All in beautiful Del Mar! Dog friendly too!

First, the service was friendly and efficient – 5 stars for that. I ordered coffee, 2 eggs, bacon and upgraded to blueberry pancakes. The amount of eggs seemed more like 4 and the 4 strips of thick bacon were very good. Coffee was served with real cream and there was whipped butter for the pancakes. My disappointment was in the pancakes. For being a pancake house, they were not particularly flavorful or fluffy. I would much prefer the ones I make at home. Adding coffee and a tip, the total was over $30 for one person.
