It was great being back after their hiatus, and let me tell you.. one of, if not the best steak I’ve ever had. I don’t say that lightly. I’ve spent $300 on a ribeye dinner, and at under $30, it made it taste all the better. The beautiful Leslie gave us impeccable service, and kept us hydrated. 6 and 1/2 stars; get your a** down to Richard’s any time of day or night to get the best appetizers, chicken Caesar salad, ribeyes, beer selection, and prices that you can find here in old Peoria, Illinois. Amazing!!

This smash burger is leagues ahead of any other burger at a sit down restaurant in the area. Easily Peoria’s best burger. Fries and mac n cheese were great as well. Great service too! Will definitely be back soon.

Wow, this place was part of my young adulthood, and I was excited to return for good food and service, but I received the complete opposite!! The two men bartenders working that night were very dismissive and rude and did not make me feel welcome at all. Didn’t say two words to me when I sat at the bar, just threw a menu in front of me and walked away, problem #1. Then they were supposedly out of half the menu, so I ordered a ribeye steak sandwich. The sandwich came with just a ribeye piece of meat and a bun, nothing else, problem #2 very disappointing. I asked for a condiment to go on the dry sandwich and then was charged an extra 25 cents for mayo!!!!! I asked for the 25 cents to be removed, and it was. Then one of the bartenders, heavy set guy, dark hair and glasses, told my friend she would have to pay for the 25 cents on her bill since I didn’t pay for mine, problem#3 !!! Now she was charged an additional 25 cents for the ranch cup that came with her meal, just ridiculous!!! Needless to say, this blackgirl will never ever ever return to Richard’s and hope this review helps anyone considering spending money at this has been restaurant!!!

I remember going here a lot of times for ribeye sandwiches and that I thought were really good. The one I got last time was paper thin. I don’t remember it being like that. I had such high hopes when I heard they were reopening. I guess that is gone now.

The original fun-loving atmosphere is back. But it’s the food that will keep you coming back again and again. The kitchen is being run by a couple of real foodies. Do yourself a favor and eat your way thru the entire menu at least once. Start with the Crab Cake appy. You will thank me.
