When we opened Rick & Ann’s in November of 1989, we felt something was missing in Berkeley – a restaurant serving the dishes we relished in our childhood.
Taking full advantage of the freshness, variety of ingredients, and cooking talents that the Bay Area has to offer, we’ve created breakfast, lunch and brunch menus of simple, comforting foods with universal appeal.

Omg yum! The breakfast here is so good! We walked in and there was a 15 minute wait which was not bad. You order your food and drinks at the counter and then they sit you at a table and the food comes out. They have a great system and great service. We got the pork chops, eggs, and cheesy potatoes. It was a first for me having pork chops for breakfast but I wanted to try something true to their menu. The combination of flavors and the apple sauce with the pork was amazing! So good!! This is a must visit if you’re in Berkeley.

Nice breakfast spot by the Claremont Hotel. The place gets really busy sometimes and the wait can take over 30 minutes. Before you are able to sit, you order and pay for your food. This system allows the kitchen to prepare your food much faster as you wait. The food is delicious and service was great.

Good food and fast to come out but I felt like we weren’t getting any attention from the servers after that. Our water jugs were never refilled/replaced and we had to get up to ask them for ketchup. I would go back but will be quicker to raise my hand or get up and ask for things instead of waiting. The patio ambiance was nice.

Food was good, but service was disappointing. Arrived at 1:30pm and was seated (in the back) without any reference to the fact they close at 2pm. Not long after our food arrived the bus staff started making lots of noise around us and being really disruptive. We couldn’t even hear one another at the table. When we mentioned it to them they said “Well we close at 2pm.” We apologized, explaining that we had no idea, and quickly left, since that’s clearly what they wanted. Won’t return.

This was our first time here and we will jot be going back. When we arrived there was a slight wait and they took down our names. After about 15 min they called us in and then told us we had to order and pay before being seated. Would have been nice to know that and look over the menu while we had been waiting.

A very nice place with cool decorations. I had a scramble with pork belly that was delicious. Also blueberry pancakes with a syrup that had a kiss of orange to really set everything off.
