Saw this place on Tik Tok and had to try it. Went here for lunch with my coworkers. I had the wings with the sauce fries and a side of slaw. Others had fried perch, turkey tips, and sausage. Everyone loved their food. The chicken was fried perfectly. Fell right off the bone and the sauce was sweet but not overly sweet. I had the pork sausage link, it was good and spicy. Food was made to order. I gotta go back and try other food on the menu. FYI there is nowhere to sit down and eat. You order your food and take it to go. It’s a small spot so it may get crowded and parking is kind of tight cause it’s alot of places in that plaza. Overall this is a place I would frequent. Oh and the customer service is good. The young lady cashier was so nice and sweet. She deserves a raise!!

The food is hit or miss. Guess it depends on the person preparing it. So far, the chicken, sauce, and the chopped steak sandwiches are usually on point. However, the ribs/rib tips, fish, and Italian beef sandwiches ARE HIT OR MISS. The beef for the sandwiches and the ribs can be very tough at times. Being a Chicago native, we don’t play about our food and will let you know when it’s not right. I decided to write a review after my last order. I was VERY disappointed I payed over $17 for a large catfish dinner and ended up throwing it away. I cannot believe they gave me that overcooked fish that appears like the grease wasn’t fresh.

I’m coming back after my initial review: I placed two orders, the fried chicken order and the combo plate that was SUPPOSED to have catfish, rib tips, and turkey sausage links. When I got home and opened the plate, there was NO TURKEY LINKS on the combo plate and they packed it up and didn’t say a word about it, knowing no links was in it. I was wondering why that plate had foil around it as well, like something was wrong with the plate, now i know why. It was a combo plate, so I know they knew it wasn’t complete but the fact that they were dishonest and didn’t say anything about shorting me, they’ll never get my business or any of my people’s business again. I spent $60 on that order, and I got that jello banana pudding(it ain’t real, this is the South, not Chicago, we don’t play that) The lady with the blue wig was at the counter and seemed to have an attitude because there were serious wait times and people were asking how long it would be. Had people waiting THAT long AND you got an attitude???

Second time coming first time I had pork rib tips it was good second time I had turkey tips it was delicious the banana pudding I had to doctor it up and add bananas and whip cream because it only had the vanilla wafers the Italian Beef Sandwich was salty. The staff was great they told me how long the wait was and the music was good. I will definitely be back.

I love Rickettes!!! The food never disappoints. I always get fresh delicious food. I’ve had so many things on the menu and I’m always satisfied. my go to is the rib tips and wings combo with sweet potato pie. Always fresh. I love that Mr. Gus will get back there and serve it up himself. Keep on doing what you doing over there. I would definitely recommend.

TURKEY TIPS!!!! I’ve never had them before and I won’t eat them again if they’re not from here. The barbeque sauce is flavorful and I love that my food was served on top of the fries so they’re covered in sauce. The service was quick, friendly and efficient. We’ll definitely be back.

Never again. I really tried with this place. First time, they left out the sauce. Second time, they left out the Mac and cheese. Now here we are, third time, I placed an online order at 5:45pm. Received confirmation that it would be ready at 6:15pm. It is now 6:45pm and I’m still waiting for my food. The food is alright. But, three strikes, never again.

Being from Chicago, I miss my home town food so I stopped in on my lunch break order 6wings sauce on everything I waiting literally 45mins was late going back to work. But I waited cause I really wanted to try it. Customer service eeehh the young lady didn’t speak if at all the energy was terrible she just held people bags up when their order was ready…. When I finally got my food the chicken was good my fries were over cooked dark n crunchy but they barely give you sauce I’m guessing because they want you to buy the cup of sauce for 1.50 I ask for mild sauce on everything mild sauce was not on everything…. Will I go back most like not the hype Wasnt all I expected. But I do wish them the best.

I am a Chicago native and stay in Douglasville. I travel all the way to this establishment just to try it. My first experience was the call to try restaurant; the young lady hung up on me and stated “we don’t take phone order. “ I had my reservation of the restaurant then, but I wanted to support a black business and try the restaurant. I place my order online , I arrived 6 mins before my order pick up time it was t ready until the exact time. However,when I arrived and gave my name the young lady who I assumed hung up on me said we don’t have an order from before even checking with the kitchen who had my order. I finally get my order, Turkey tip/wing combo the tips only had sauce so when I asked for sauce on the wings and fries the young lady made a smart comment that was unwarranted. When I got home started eating and noticed that they only gave 7 pieces of the the turkey tips. For $20 I would think it would have had more food. The food was tender and sauce was good. The food portion do not match the pricing. The sauce not the typical mild sauce it’s more like Dats Donut on Cottage but it still good. I wished the service was better and portion.
