If you’ve eaten at Reel Seafood or Bert’s, you need to eat here. The same two owners now run this intimate restaurant and the food is fabulous! Several servers also transferred here, so they know their stuff. I met a friend here and forewarned Jody that we had a lot to catch up on. They have a nice wine list and a full bar. I ordered the shrimp scampi, grilled zucchini and squash and the hush puppies. You MUST get the puppies, they are the best I’ve ever had. My friend got the Singapore Tuna, asparagus and hush puppies. Did I mention you MUST get the puppies? I really enjoyed my scampi in the lemon cream sauce, it wasn’t greasy at all and the shrimp were already peeled. All of the grilled veggies had a light smokiness and were seasoned really well. Her piece of tuna was seared rare and she said the Singapore sauce was light but spicy with a hint of wasabi. She said it was excellent. We both cleaned our plates, emptied a bottle of Chardonnay and then ordered the chocolate cream pie for dessert. The filling was a very dense, creamy chocolate with whipped cream on top. It was really good and not too sweet. Alright. I need to mention the puppies again. The shapes are crazy, which tells me they are dropping the batter directly into the fryer, the interior is very light and the outside is very crispy. They have a great crunch and then pillowy softness. They are OUTSTANDING. I strongly recommend this high quality restaurant.
