Delicious food. Inventive creations like an Asian twist on carbonara and umami rich pirogies. Our favorite was the shrimp cocktail which came paired with something like a gazpacho. Despite a long work day our server was attentive and very kind.

Slipped by for an anniversary dinner… Everything was wonderful! We started with fresh oysters – they were lovely, the coconut lime granita is an awesome detail. Of course we tried the caviar tots because we have read so much about them. They are certainly worth trying once, but in my opinion, they just weren’t as amazing as I have read. To each their own… just didn’t explode with flavor as I hoped.

The menu is intimate and intriguing. They are very much about the experience. Our waitress, Ella, was very attentive and personable. Service is everything. The dishes met our expectations and the presentation was thoughtful. I had the kimchi carbonara which was flavorful and non-traditional. Love pasta and kimchi, so it was a no-brainer. My partner waited for me to receive my food before starting his and that was pointed out by one of the staff, lol… we acknowledge the experience they want to provide by serving dishes once they are freshly plated. Got a feeling that ordering our dessert to-go wasn’t a favorite either, but we did and it was delicious. Would dine here again. Thanks, Ella!

The ever evolving menu never disappoints. Specials according to theme, time and season and the coolest atmosphere with beautiful art that local artists are allowed to display there. I go every time I visit Houston. I swear everything the owner touches turns to gold. EXCELLENT place. I highly recommend.

I finally made it to Riel. It was everything I was hoping it would be. Creative and innovative dishes that teased the palette with seafood, meat or vegan options. The presentation was artful and modern. The flavors were genius, unexpected and delicious. I’m always a lover of tapas style eating and enjoyed being able to taste many of the dishes. The portions are a little on the small side for the price, though some of the dishes were so good we ordered them again. The restaurant had a good ambiance with a modern vibe. The wait staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. A great experience and definitely a place to try if you enjoy dining.
