I moved out here from Chicago about a year ago. Being from Chicago food has been something I’ve missed. I was looking for some place that had good Italian food so I googled and came across Rigo’s Place. This place is a Hidden Gem. When I first walked in, I loved the Ambiance and the piano playing in the background. I loved the dim lights with the candles lit on each table. I ordered the Classic Cosmopolitan and it was perfect. It had the perfect balance of flavors and alcohol. For appetizers the Calamari Fritti was delicious and it was fried perfectly. For the main entree I had the Smoked Italian Sausage Pasta and I loved the homemade tomato Basil sauce. It was really good. For dessert I had the Banana Cheesecake and it just melted in my mouth. It was so delicious. The service was great and the waiters were very nice. 10/10 recommend and I will be going back to try other things on the menu.

The taste of the Big City without the big city traffic!! The ambiance was very nice, conducive to having a lovely dinner. The live pianist was a very nice touch. For starters we ordered the saganaki “flaming cheese” then were served rolls , soup and salad. Just as we were finishing that, the entrees came out. Everything was served in a timely manner. Our waitress offered the specials and was helpful in helping me decide on the Poulet Bleu, which was a chicken entree with blue cheese and brandy sauce. It was delish ..My wife got the chicken marsala and she really loved it. Dinner pricing for most entrees was in the $20-25 range per person. It was nice to go somewhere that offered unique menu items for the area. Can’t wait to go again!

After having a bad experience at another restaurant we ended up at Rigo’s and oh what a difference. We showed up 5 minutes before opening and were welcomed by a very gracious host. The place is very clean and classy. Waiters were super professional. Food was delicious. I ordered sea bass and my husband got the tenderloin. Bread was great but the salad was only one slice of tomato and one of cucumber with a bunch of lettuce. Great music. We’re from out of town but if we ever go back to Kankakee we’ll definitely eat at Rigo’s again. The menu has lost of options to explore. Parking lot was large. By the way, they speak Spanish!

We were a party of 6. One of us got blackened Scallops over pasta with creamy champagne sauce for $40. Scallops were undercooked. Restaurant recooked them then they were really good. Over priced for $40. Another dish was seafood pasta with shrimp, muscles, clams & baby scallops. Muscles tasted a bit off.

Atmosphere is perfect for enjoying a 3-4 course meal. Start with appetizers and drinks – you MUST try the French Martini. The crab cakes with Champaign sauce is a customer favorite. You must try the Rigos special, pecan crusted grouper or bacon wrapped shrimp dinner. Plus the bartender is super cute!
