We waited 30 minutes after we were seated before we received any service. The server was rude and clearly inexperienced. We ordered blue crabs, and we had to ask for paper to cover the table, napkins, and silverware. We received one ramekin of butter to share between two people. My bottled beer was warm. That’s just the poor service. We ordered jumbo crabs and they served us large crabs. The crabs were also missing legs and claws. When I complained that the crabs were not jumbo, the manager insisted that I pay for them despite the obvious size difference. I paid for crab I never ate and left. Worst crab spot in Baltimore. It should be called RIP OFF. Went over to Captain James and got real jumbo crabs. This picture shows the jumbo crab from Captain James next to the “jumbo” crab I got from Riptide that I took away in a to go box. Don’t come here. Horrible food and service.

I came to Riptide this afternoon with a few friends. Adam was our bartender/server. He was amazing. He really made sure our experience here was great and that we were taken care of. We had crabs and they were the best we’ve had in awhile. Food was great, drinks were great, atmosphere was great, and most importantly the service was great. I would definitely recommend coming here and asking for Adam as your server.

No complaints. Amid all the negative reviews I read I had a very positive experience. Food came out in a timely manner , firecracker shrimp tacos were very flavorful with just the slightest of kicks. Old bay wings were a decent size and just the right amount of crispy. View from across the water right on Thames st was nice.

Sat outside on a Thursday night. Crabs were $3 a piece! (minimum of 6). We bought 6 crabs, very nice waitress showed us silly Pennsylvanians how to properly crack them open and scoop the organs out in order to harvest the juicy delicious crab meat Also ordered the mussels in white wine butter sauce, the sauce tasted weird but otherwise great. The ultimate crab pretzel was fantastic. Overall great place!

Poor service, tried to sell us jumbo crabs which were really a large. Slow, unattentive service and rude manager. If your are looking for drinks, hang out, if you are looking for crabs, go elsewhere.

This place is truly a gem of Baltimore – the real reason they call it charm city. The staff are welcoming, fun, and make great drinks. The music playlist is eclectic in a way that reminds you of your favorite hometown bar. The Crabs are (fight me if you wanna try to disagree) THE BEST cooked in all of Maryland. 10 out of 10. I travel to Baltimore regularly for work and NEVER skip this spot.

Stopped in while visiting the area. There was a drunk guy harassing me as soon as i got there. Service was bad. Bartender chose to eat while i had to wait extra time for a crab cake. Took 35 min to come out. It was a $28 deep fried ball. It wasn’t that good. Crab soup had no flavor and had to hunt someone down to get salt n pepper since bartender was MIA and never asked me if everything was ok. There is no reason for me to recommend this place or come back for another visit.

We had to wait over an hour for oysters and French fries. The server never checked on us the entire time, my sons food was the first which was tenders and fries. The tenders were over cooked and the fries were okay. The plate was hotter than the good.

Thursday afternoon at 12:30 I arrived to meet a longtime friend for lunch. Only 3 other diners. My friend had 6 oysters, small no flavor and the fish & chips. I had the salmon B A L T. Very below average. We had two glasses of house wine. $11.00 each. The bartender told us we had to give him our credit card while we were seated at the bar. I said “ no, are you serious? That’s how people’s credit cards are compromised. I demanded the card back. Nothing good about the place. Looks run down inside and now I know why no one wants to go to Fells Point. It’s obvious they are price gouging you and providing poor quality food.
