My family and I have been going to Isabella’s for years and love this place–and that spans three generations. Their pasta dishes and pizza dishes are favorites, so I am not as familiar with the other entrees. Being an ex-NYer of Italian heritage, I have some definite ideas on what good, homestyle Italian food is, and this restaurant fits the bill. I was quite amazed at an earlier review criticizing the sausage sandwich, as that is a favorite of mine. The meatballs are also incredible! Appetizers we especially like are the zucchini pancake appetizers (with wonderful pesto/red pepper sauce), bruschetta and fried ravioli. We love all the pasta dishes (WOW on their gorgonzola or alfredo sauces, as well as their Sarah Rosa pasta in a pink sauce with smoked mozzarella. Pizza Margarita is wonderful–topped with fresh mozzarella, fresh tomatoes, and fresh basil. For the last few months, home-baked bread is put on the table to start with their wonderful fresh garlic oil. We are not too familiar with the desserts, as we are usually too full and satisfied to eat another morsel. Service is usually friendly, atmosphere is simple and classy. I will admit some servers are better than others, and Tiffany is one of our favorites! I would encourage all to try it, as people clearly differ widely in their opinions here. I think that just shows how different peoples’ tastes are!

This place was a wonderful gem to find so close to home. I imagine based on the stuffed salmon and rigatoni we had that we’ll be going back on a regular basis. Highly recommended, especially in a bedroom community like Covington. You’d have to drive a long, long way to get better.

My chicken was way over cooked (hard) to the point the knife had a hard time cutting through. The pasta/sauce was extremely salty. Maybe this was an isolated incident, I’m not going to try it a 2nd time.

OK food. Service is awful! There is wide hipped waitress that has the worst attitude. She was talking about some of the other customers within ear shot of them. Then tried to play it off by yelling at the other waitress to hurry up. I don’t remember any place in Italy being on this level of bad. Never going back!
