We had a great time at River North this past weekend! The service was great, food amazing, and the owner is so sweet! It’s so nice to see an owner who is actively involved in the day to day operations. All the employees were a joy to be around as well. All were helpful and accommodating to my food allergies. They also had quite a few vegetarian and vegan dishes!

River North is a pretty cool place, but I left underwhelmed. The menu feature that drew us in was they offered a “French fly flight”, which is just fries with three sauces. That’s a French fly flight the same McDonald’s offers a French fry flight because they have more than three sauce options. It was good, but come on let’s be real. French fry flight means three types of fry types, not that you have three sauces to dip the same fries in.

Rachel wants a neighborhood/locally supported business. Today, Sunday June 25, there was a private party. (Normally closed on Sunday). I have no idea what the party was for, but there was loud music with vulgar language. All the neighborhood children could hear this from well over a 100 yards away. It went on for hours. This is incredibly disrespectful to all the neighbors who support the business. I hope she can make better choices, because bad word about a business that disrespects the neighborhood, and the people that regularly support the business, spreads like a virus. I’m trying to figure out why I would ever support this business again…….

There have been some negative reviews about slow service but we were served quickly and well. I had the beer mac-n-cheese and there are several add-ins to choose from if you like. The prime rib sandwich is awesome! Their drinks are strong and tasty but overpriced. Way overpriced – that’s my only complaint. Oh, and the caramel bread pudding is rich and caramelly.

This was our first time to River North. You guys — the service was amazing (thank you, Dierdra!) We’ve been to most Creston restaurants and I have to say that this was the most neighborhood-y feel of any of them. Cozy, great food, good people, and amazing cocktails. Pics cover chicken wings, beet salad, black fig flatbread, and Bohemian Rhapsody. Can’t wait to go back and try more!
