What a “GEM”! We stopped in for Sunday Brunch! Property is absolutely gorgeous! We started with the Bottomless Mimosas and the Calamari. It was cooked perfectly! Then Fried Fish & Shrimp … and the Surf n Turf. And finished with the house made Carrot Cake and Pecan Cobbler. We will definitely be back and often.

Wife and I went to Dido’s this evening for the first time in many years for both of us. I have not stepped foot in here since the mid 80s. I have only seen this place from the river here recently. We were both hungry and on our way home from work and I gave her a call because I knew she was not far ahead of me and said hey let’s go to Dido’s. This is a really pretty piece of property here. It’s right on the San Bernard River and has a huge old oak tree right beside it that is absolutely beautiful. They built a chapel up under this oak tree and makes for a great picture / postcard. We made our way inside and to a table and we were served immediately. There were not very many people in there which I thought was awesome because it made for a quiet dinner with my sweetheart. My wife ordered the special of the day which I cannot remember what it was but I took a couple of samples of it and it was out of this world delicious. I ordered the blackened Redfish platter which I scarfed down immediately. It was absolutely awesomely delicious. The folks here are very pleasant and knowledgeable in their jobs, big thumbs up to them all. I cannot believe I had overlooked this place all these years. Well, however, this is a mistake I can rectify easily. Awesome food, beautiful scenery, wonderful staff. What more needs to be said?

Boating with friends yesterday and stopped for some dinner. They were closing in 30 mins yet still gave us a warm welcome and fed our party of six. The food was very good. Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection. We are from Houston and will be taking some motorcycle rides back to this place more often.

Ten stars!! My husband Mark and I – just enjoyed one of the best meals, since moving to Brazoria County. The owner Nancy was so welcoming, and so kind, we felt like we were visiting family. Our waitress Missy was at our table before we even asked for another beverage. The vintage paddle boat was breath taking in all her beautiful splendor sitting on the sparkling San Bernard River. We enjoyed meeting Captain Malloy and his incredible wife. We had a delicious meal, met some amazing people, and the view is nothing less of spectacular. This is officially our new favorite place. We will be eating here on a regular basis.

Place is dated as the 80’s, food is sub par at best, up sale the royal red shrimp, royal red shrimp. Service is NEVER dependable, 55 minutes for a cheese burger with 4 other people in the place. Don’t waste you money or time, always a problem at this place!

What a wonderful find! Close to Lake a Jackson and beautiful Freeport Beach. Dido’s is a great restaurant with a stunning view. They offer paddleboat cruises as well. The owners are Fred and Nancy. They are the sweetest and nicest people you could ever meet. The food is awesome. Fresh seafood and sides and homemade ingredients including desserts. Most have the fresh shrimp and must have the banana pudding! It’s worth the trip there. Or plan a trip and have some fun in Lake Jackson or Freeport but don’t forget to go to Dido’s and get some fantastic food and hang out with some great people. They also have live bands on many weekends. The patio is big and comfortable and screened in. We Love this place. Will be back again and again!
