The River Shack is under new ownership! It’s still the place to launch your boat and enjoy the best view on Dog River. The chef is providing an ever changing menu which includes some classic favorites but also items you might have never had before until now. The service is pub/bbq style where you order/pay at the window and take a number to a table that is first come. No spot is a bad spot. The bar staff is continuing to add great drinks to the menu while they easily entertain the awesome/supportive locals. The place is continuing getting updated. Hang tight, their plans are ever ending and so happy to be here on Dog River, Alabama.

Looked this place up were from outta town. The menu on google looked reasonable and a good selection, mainly why we came and the river view. We arrived they asked us to order off a chalkboard that was on the wall up high, not to be seated and look but order right then. The menu was not what was on google and was very limited to a few things. There is no indoor seating but a small bar, outdoor seating under a shelter No waitress. Beer is $5.00 and up miller lite ,Michelob ultra $6.50. Was not impressed only good thing was the food came out super quick and was decent.

Fun little restaurant right at the entrance to the bay. All the employees are very friendly, and the bar staff was very patient. Very chill environment . But the best part was the karaoke, I went on a Tuesday and I guess that’s what they do there karaoke. I had so much fun running around with my friends picking songs and singing. Definitely the next time I visit Alabama, that will be one of the places I stop at!

Walked in, lady behind counter said sit anywhere. I sat down and for 25 minutes no one ask what I wanted drink or take my order. Another young lady came from behind counter a stayed on her phone while I sat there. Absolutely ridiculous. Obviously , they could care less. Last time I came here the food was good but service was terrible. I want be back. Biggest regret, sitting there for 25 minutes. Don’t waste your time or money.

The River Shack is located right on Dog River. It is an open air restaurant with a separate indoor bar. We loved the live music and sitting where we could watch the boats come in! The food was good, but I didn’t love the sauce on the shrimp app. I’ll try something different next time. My husband like the burger. Super casual atmosphere on the water!

Food was good, came out quick and drinks at the bar we great. If you have cat allergies however avoid this place. There are at least two resident cats in the bar area, and my allergies were triggered almost immediately.
