I got the Ben’s Big Heat burger ($15), and it was great! All their burgers are a half pound, and cooked perfect. The burger had melted qeuso cheese, bacon, and fried jalapeños. It was very filling, and delicious. Their fries taste very homemade, and are the perfect bit of crispy and soft. The place was relatively empty, (my family and 2-3 others) with a very family owned, small business feeling. I would 100% recommend this restaurant if you are looking for good, comforting food.

We stopped by Riverbound Cafe after an impromptu trip to Mechanicsville. We ended up eating the loaded tots appetizer (pictured), the Ballard’s club sandwich (pictured), the Texas melt, and a slice of buttermilk pie and peanut butter pie. The loaded tots were great, and the ranch (which I’m assuming is made in house) was simply phenomenal. I really enjoyed the club sandwich. The Texas melt was not my favorite. The biggest problem was actually that it was too much meat, which made it more like a regular bbq sandwich instead of a melt. The meat overwhelmed the cheese and bacon. The fries don’t look like much, but don’t let them fool you! They were also delicious, and the ranch really elevated their flavor. The buttermilk pie was yummy. The peanut butter pie was fine, a little dry but not bad. My husband also had two mixed drinks, a Shipwreck and something else. The drinks were weak but tasty.

Pretty good. Food tasted good, was able to accommodate my veggies lifestyle. Only reason I gave a 4 is because my dish was missing items but once I received all the toppings the food was good hearty and abundant. Reasonable prices. Good service.

My waitress could not have been any nicer! The food was so good my sister & I are going to keep coming back till we try everything on the menu!! We received quite large portions, hot, & cooked correctly. Do not leave without trying a cinnamon roll, to die for & big enough to share one after our delicious meal.

Terrible experience. I am here now. The server was miserable. The food I ordered was not correct, and the fries were cold. I told the server about my issues with the food, and the server argued with me. Then didn’t do anything, so here I sit with a plate of cold food sitting in front of me. I will be charged 15.00 for something. I took two bites out of the sandwich. It is too bad. I had a great experience the last time I ate here. I guess the restaurant was having an off day.

This is one of those hometown places where the staff is friendly and the food is delicious. My husband always gets the barbecue sandwich with bacon (I can’t remember the name). I’ve had the Burger Bowl salad, the Marsea salad, the cheeseburger, and the Sailor sandwich. Everything is delicious. We’ve never been for breakfast but recommend it for lunch or dinner.

Really enjoyed this restaurant. Wasn’t sure what to expect because the outside doors/windows are mirrored. The restaurant is spacious, the staff is very friendly, and the food was great! Seems like a lot of locals frequent it. We just moved here, so they will add us to the list that visit!

Overall the Food was pretty good. The Crab Dip was fantastic with big chunks of fresh lump crab. The bread was not what it should have been. The Club Sandwich was perfect. Onion rings, though frozen were hot and tasty. We drove a little over an hour to come here only to discover that all entrees were removed from menu because of being short handed in kitchen. Our server was doing her best but the kitchen was clearly struggling to keep up even with reduced menu. No less that 6 tables that came in after us received food before us and we only ordered a Club Sandwich with Onion Rings. Saw 5 Clubs served to tables that came after us. Server finally served the Club without the Onion Rings after about 45 minutes then brought Rings 5 minutes later. No fault to server here. Three stars were for food and Server trying her best. Still left $7 tip on $25 check.

My wife says she kisses better than she cooks. Lol ! I know it’s a break even, and I still play the game and take her to where we can always have a great variety of eating pleasure ! You owe it to yourself. Take advantage of a wonderful meal every time.
