Whitney in the City
Rock Star Tacos has a cult-like following and once you try them, you’ll understand why. The tacos are craveworthy, the margaritas are some of my favorite in STL, and the fun events (like Trivia on Tuesdays) make for a great night! Be sure to check the schedule & plan ahead. It gets busy!

We were going to see the Chihuly glass exhibit at the Missouri Botanical Garden on a Friday (which opened at 6 PM) and arrived at Rock Star Tacos at 5 PM to eat early and to get in the Botanical Garden when it opened. As suggested, parking is EXTREMELY limited and seating capacity is low but we did not have a problem getting seats for 2. Server gave us a paper tray of complimentary popcorn which we thought was nicely seasoned. One drawback for non-technical customers might be the QR code menu on the table – ask for a printed one: they’ll find one. Spouse had 2 different tacos, one of which was a Motown Philly Taco which she really enjoyed. I had the Green Chile Tamale and the Tamale of the Day. Can I give 6 stars ?

This place reminds me of Terror Taco but instead there’s meat and it’s classic rock. Friendly, extremely friendly service. Plenty of taco options and they are pretty interesting. Full bar. We enjoyed the margaritas. We will be back.

Amazing!!! The waitress was SO good at her job, right to the point and always very polite and quick. The food was excellent and I mean excellent. We got chips and queso, jackfruit tacos, and tamales. All of them exceeded my expectations especially the chili tamales! Glad we went out on a limb to try something new.

After seeing such glowing reviews, my boyfriend and I were really excited to try Rock Star Tacos. We came in for dinner and were greeted by a cheerful team. The dining room was decorated for a private surprise party, so we sat at the bar. We enjoyed Rock Star-dusted popcorn while chatting up the bartender and choosing margaritas. Both of us love street corn and were drooling over the sound of the street corn hush puppies, which we ordered as our starter… and this is when the experience took a turn.

Everything was ok I think we expected that the tacos would be better but they were extremely greasy. We like the concept and atmosphere but the food definitely lacked flavor and was so greasy!! The people were nice though.

oh my god. bro. this was one of my favorite meals i’ve ever had. We got the Down on the Korner (left) and Poutina Turner (right). So mf good then we got Birria Dollar Babies, Hey! Ho!
