My husband took me on a date here. What a fabulous time! Great food, great service, great atmosphere! The history alone was Amazing then being able to add a delicious dining experience, wow! They offered a tour, and created a great overall experience. The steak, margaritas and mushrooms, and chicken livers are highly recommended!!

I wanted to take a moment to offer feedback. This was our first time at the restaurant. We had reservations for 5:30 this evening. We were very disappointed with the service. Our waitress never offered refills; we had to flag a guy down for them. After they dropped our food off, no one came to check on us to see if we needed anything. Then, we once again had to flag down someone walking by in the hall for more refills, boxes and the check. For a meal of $101., I can honestly say disappointed is the correct word. It’s unfortunate really. We were looking forward to this 1st time visit for a while now. We’ve always heard such great things about this place but it definitely did not live up to it with our dining experience. The food was good but the service was not.

Moved to IN about a month ago from UT where you couldn’t find good food if your life depended on it. We tried Rod & Gun for our anniversary and it was awesome. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was comfortable and the staff makes you feel like family. Highly recommend and we will definitely be going back.

This place is cool and so is the history behind the building. To be completely honest those were the most redeeming qualities that this place had to offer. I loved that we had a small private room. Food wasn’t very good though. The sides were terrible. I could have went without the appetizers, they didn’t impress me. The steak was just okay. Service wasn’t good but not the worst I’ve ever had either. $125 for three adults (with some appetizers…after tip also) seems kind of steep to me for the below average food and service.

What a fabulous dinner and ambience at this long-time classic! With a storied past, The Rod & Gun holds a rich history, and we got a tour with lots of local lore!!!

Iconic restaurant from many decades past, with a notorious past. Personally, the NY Strip steak was very good.
