Great food and drinks! This restaurant was newly opened, but the place had a charm that made it feel like it had been there for decades. The staff was super friendly, the decor was very steampunk and gaming-oriented with themed food and drinks. Possibly the best meatball sandwich I ever had, fantastic pizza as well washed down with cold ale. Definitely coming back and bringing friends.

If you live in Elgin, you should make this your go to pizza place! If you don’t live close by, definitely make the trip. The flavors will blow you away. You will not need red pepper flakes or parmesan. We totally forgot about the condiments.

We arrived at the Red Poppy Bistro around 11:15 a.m., and after looking through the menu I was torn on whether to order brunch or lunch. The sandwiches Al sounded delicious, especially since they are made with bread from the iconic Herb’s Bakery (also in Elgin). I finally decided to order brunch, and was very glad that I did – the French toast was memorable (and plentiful with five thick slices!). The outdoor seating was a definite bonus on such a wonderful day.

This place is amazing Must try Elizabeth’s Songbird pizza! It’s different, yet a sweet discovery. The traditional pizzas are great also if sweet is not for you. Customerservice is also a great experience. What a gem this place turned out to be.

The staff was very friendly and the restaurant seems very nice(i picked up). The pizzas were fantastic! Pipe & Wrench, The Gouts of Flame, and the Herky Jerky pizzas were all unique and delicious, and we will definitely be back. Unfortunately, the NYC prices will make this an occasional spot for us instead of our new weekly go to.
