I was in Portland for 4 days and came here two separate times for dinner – the food was that good! I am vegan so I was drawn in by the vegan menu and ended up getting the Euphoria with added tofu each time. I highly recommend checking this place out (vegan or not) as the ingredients were fresh, the price was reasonable, and the environment of the Hawthorne Aslyum is super communal and positive vibes!

Good food. Did try that many things but the staff was friendly and helpful. They were willing to make adjustments to a roll for me and I really appreciated that. I would go again. They have a lot of.vwgan options too which I also appreciate.

Got a poke and a musubi. The poke I thought was kinda average—the amount of imitation crab meat in there was really overwhelming, compared to the fish and even rice. The flavor was a bit bland and didn’t have anything interesting for texture like fried onions or some other crunch.

The sushi is really nice and fresh and you can get either rice roll or salad bowl-nice! I tried the Northern Lights and really enjoyed the mix of flavors. Kudos to the gal who took my order. Their cart faces the mid-day sim but she was calm cool and pleasant. A truly amazing feat on a day that will top 95 degrees! Btw, the entire Hawthorne Asylum is chill with covered benches, beer/wine cart and few patrons for lunch (today is a Monday)

Absolutely incredible sushi burritos filled fully with meat and goodies. No skimping out on any of the good stuff, these artists know how to make one killer meal. The bonus? It comes with two of what you see in the photo. The sushi burrito did not fall apart until the very end, but at that point I could stick the rest of it in my mouth so it wasn’t ever a problem! Staff is always polite and quick, and never rude.

Rollin Fresh is exactly as it sounds – Fresh! I tried the Hero Sushirito (basically a large roll the size of a burrito wrapped in seaweed). It was well prepared and had just the right ratio of rice to tofu to cucumber pieces. I would recommend this food cart!

I wanted to give this food cart a zero star rating. There is nothing fresh or sushi like in it. I wanted to try this new concept. Bad mistake!! The lady who was at the food cart was so dull and unfriendly. Coming to the sushi burrito, I ordered the HERO sushi burrito…it seemed just stale and tasteless. Would never recommend!! Waste of money

Used to love this place, but recently the burritos have seriously degraded in overall quality. They used to be huge and now they’re more expensive and tiny compared to what they used to be. It’s almost 20 dollars for a small poorly made sushi burrito. The taste of the fish has also decreased drastically.
