I recently went to Romans and I got amazing service! I hadn’t been here there that much and I didn’t know the menu that well and the lady who helped was amazing. I don’t remember her name but she had red hair and piercings and she took her time telling me the specials and was so kind! Five stars would come back and recommend to everyone!

I gave it a five because the Hamburger is the best in western North Carolina. I don’t know what the meat is marinated in but it is amazing and I’ve been treating myself here for over a decade. This is not a place to find fried food but you can get some healthy sides. I just go for the burger. Call ahead and make sure they are open since their primary business is for the downtown work crowd. Now, I almost gave them a three star for location, panhandling while sitting outside, and the occasional transient you will have to step over to get to this great place to eat. BUT, that is not their fault but the fault of the city of Asheville which needs to be cleaned up. Update: On my last visit Haywood Street was a little more cleaned up, but I would not venture out after dark.

Excellent Veggie burger that stands out from other veggie burgers. This one is clearly homemade with actual black beans and lentils. The burger is also loaded with red onions, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and a special sauce. Fantastic sandwich even though it was on the pricey side. The potato and pasta salads were also very refreshing and fresh. I also recommend the chicken salad sandwich which includes sundried tomatoes that add a beautiful flavor to the sandwich.

We LOVED Romans Deli! We heard so much about their delicious sandwiches so it was a must try! We came all the way from New York so we figured to try a few different things off the menu. My absolute favorite was the turkey cranberry sandwich. I also really enjoyed the salads and the sesame chicken. We came back a few times during our trip because everything we tried was just so delicious!

One of the best sandwich shops or lunch spots in downtown Asheville. Great selection of options, great location, and super friendly staff. I usually don’t eat tuna salad but it’s a must try here. I’m a big fan of the caprese sandwiches as well. Also, they have a catering service as well.

1/29/2020- Wow small Little place with a big punch very nice menu. I got a bacon Swiss cheeseburger. The burger sorry I ate too fast came with a nice cold slaw, no vinegar that I can taste they don’t have french fries no fryer the burger came with a pickle.

Sadly, Roman’s new system will not allow ordering through Netwaiter without passwords that cannot be reset. I’m unable to order any food from them. And if I call, they don’t know how to help. I’ve been ordering from Romans since they first opened. But I guess it won’t be possible any more. 🙁
